Anyone else absolutely sick of playing against mei?

I can’t stand it. When she’s in the game on either team, I’m no longer having fun. She’s an anti-fun hero and her kit is still ridiculously strong even after the nerf.

Am I alone on this?

Anti-fun could mean literally anything to anyone. Learn to counter the hero.

She doesn’t bother me as much as she used to, but she can still be frustrating if I’m playing tank – especially Hammond.

I keep hacking her so she has no kit so… She’s fine to me (lol)

Don’t worry, she won’t be relevant for much longer.

The problem with countering mei is that the amount of skill/coordination it takes to counter her is way higher than the skill it takes to play her effectively. She has two ‘get out of jail free’ cards, more HP than most dps, a self heal, and an ult that is basically an all around better Eathshatter.

That could be said about a lot of the DPS heroes: any hero can be hard to deal with it you don’t have teamwork in a team game.

Yes, it could be said about most DPS heroes that they have multiple escapes, a higher health pool, a self heal and an improved earthshatter ult.

That’s not what I said. If you reready sentence, I was talking about a hero being hard to deal with. And Mei has all those things because she deals trash dmg at range, can’t one shot, has no horizontal mobility, and can easily die if focused when she doesn’t have cryo. The hero has weaknesses, especially when her ult can be straight up negated by TWO of the tanks.

I play Mystery Heroes… if you think 1 Mei is bad, try 3.

“Has no trash damage”
She has no falloff damage, either. So her right click does the same amount of damage from across the map as it does up close. She’s no widow, but if she’s meant to be an “up close” hero, why did the remove the falloff damage she initially had?

“No horizontal mobility”
No, but she can take mobility away from others by clicking on them without cooldown. And can do this to multiple people at once.

“Can’t one shot”
No, but she has her combo. Just like Hog’s hook. Or cree’s flashbang. She’s able to stop a hero in their tracks and pop off a couple of headshots to secure a kill. The only major difference is that her’s has no cooldown.

“can easily die if focused when she doesn’t have cryo”
Unless she’s being pocketed by a healer. Again, she has 250 HP. Most than most DPS. Not only that, but her wall can be just as much of a ‘get out of jail free’ card as her cryo.

“her ult can be straight up negated by TWO of the tanks”
If she throws it straight at the ground, the only hero that has a chance of eating it is Dva. And any mei player with a brain will not throw it directly into a D.va’s face. And as I keep stating, her ult is an all-around better earthshatter. It can be built up quicker, and at range. It lasts longer and has a bigger area. The targets remain standing making it easier for them to headshot. It goes through shields and has a vertical to it.

I’m not saying she doesn’t have weaknesses. I’m saying that she is incredibly unbalanced in the fact that it takes a LOT more effort to counter her than it does to play her.

you don’t have my support. I think she is a blast to have on my team, or against.

This was my suggestion for Mei. Meant to cut down on her annoying aspects without strictly nerfing her power scaling.

Primary

Return full slow (30%-90%), and limit the characters that can be hit to 2, but only 1 can actually be frozen at a time. The other simply stays slowed.
and/or
Put her primary on a resource meter. Similar to Moira’s healing, recharged while not in use, OR when getting secondary hits.

Secondary

rate of fire from 0.8 per second to 0.6 per second.

Cryo

from 4 seconds/150 HP to 2 seconds/200 HP

80% of the playerbase is sick of playing against mei. Blizzard only cares about the other 20% though.

I think Mei is okay. I don’t see her often, unless a team REALLY needs her because they are losing the match. She’s obnoxious but she’s alright in general. Maybe just learn to counter her.

Read.

I read it. And I still stand by what I say. Learn to counter.

I play main tanks. The best “counter” we have to Mei is hoping our team can kill her because Mei wins every fight at close range, every time, without fail, and close range is the only place where most MTs can fight. So we just have to stay back away from the point behind our breaking barriers and hope our team can kill her or else we can’t contest the point.

Yeah but this isn’t your fault. The DPS job is to kill. They have options for long range. And any good DPS can get a easy pick on a Mei.
