Anyone else a big fan of builders and hopes there’ll be more?

I love builders, and with symmetra, she’s always had an interesting kit.
I hope there are more in the future, especially with turrets and constructs for support and defense.
I love that the power of symmetra (and to a lesser extent, vishkar) is from intellect as well, but not from science. More from art and architecture, and that’s really unique imo, since most power in media comes from martial prowess, pure academic knowledge, engineering, secrets, or music.
More constructors, please!

Why would anyone be a ‘fan’ of a fascist corp?

Well… not the motive but the technology and method of construction with shields at a forefront and being a supportive evil rather than a destructive one. (Like doomfist)

None destructive? They burned down favellas and killed hundreds, if not thousands. Then what they built in its place was just to extort those who could afford to stay, or the government paying their welfare.

They’re properly super evil who’s motivation is greed, and excuse is class supremacy.

Less destructive… I painted myself into a corner here so lemme rephrase: I like that they build stuff with light, and power coming from visual art and construction is always something I like represented, as opposed to power through destruction or healing. While power through knowledge is cool, it’s a bit overrepresented.

But I Mean… talon doesn’t seem to have a plan for reconstruction of the world after destroying it, and at least vishkar does… lawful evil is cooler than chaotic evil imo, so that also may be why I like vishkar over talon. Not to say vishkar’s good, but it has recovery in mind.

So you like hard light construction stuff, I get that. But it’s not unique to Vishkar.

Or is you like aggressive land grabbing?

It’s not about recovery, it’s essentially corporate colonialism.

Yeah, now that you put it that way it sounds pretty bad…
(A lot like Hyperion, actually.)
Perhaps I just like symmetra and construction mid-combat as a form of support as a whole as opposed to the actual corporation of vishkar.
I probably should change the title to something more accurate, then.

Not really. Lucio didn´t sound much excited about them and I trust this kind and ethusiastic hero more than Symmetra, who seems to be just full of herself.

I don’t understand what assumptions you like vishkar about. maybe you mean for the hard light technology? for now in the lore they have always spoken badly of it (lucio, the hero of numbani, sombra ARG, etc.). the best I expect is to be able to see Utopea, to understand if there is an ethics without moral limits as happens in Oasis … or Rapture di Bioshock, wanting to make a comparison of ‘society that follows its goals at all costs’.

waiting for possible developments on the vishkar lore from OW2, I think you might like to play “Portal” very much. you will notice a lot of details that inspired the Symmetra style.

low key came up with a hero for vishkar to show their good side. haven’t fully figured out his lore but something along the lines of

  • X city being in an economic depression after omnic war,
  • hero was a kid and making plenty of items with hard light ability, notably medical equipment for family clinic which was suffering financially
  • vishkar came in and helped city’s economy and quality of life massively
  • vishkar found out about hero, offered deal of providing him education and a job after grad while vishkar support his family
  • hero graduated, working under ex-lucio’s dad’s colleague in researching hard-light medical equipment
  • colleague shares how shady vishkar’s in and how colleague wants to overthrow and change vishkar from within
  • hero decides to help

where I’m kinda stuck is trying to inject personality into his backstory. because I want him more light-hearted and sassy but all of this is really serious :\

like I got all the kit details (rapid fire hitscan support with reasonable escapes and utility; not going to post all yet), but idk what his weapon should be.

I like heroes that take alive people and build dead people out of them.

calm guys. I think he simply had the wrong way of expressing the topic and his interest was in the Vishkar style in graphic and technological terms.

For example, I really like the world of Wellington Wells by We Happy Few, but obviously I don’t really support all of Uncle Jack’s false intentions. Bioshock’s Rapture himself, I’m not sympathetic to Andrew Ryan’s mentality but I like the style of that narrative.

this is an example of a wrong phrase that has led many to think badly of you. I advise you to change the phrase and the topic title to something more explicit about the graphic style

ps: so far the ps5 seems from Vishkar style, or am I wrong? XD
