Anyone disappointed how basic Kiriko's visual design is?

It’s just Tracer cosplaying as a shrine maiden.

This is about the safest, most predictable design I could have imagined. The fox theme is barely there, and the headgear looks like a party hat for kids.

I guess they are saving all the creativity for the monetized skins.

I mean it’s her default look and the two legendary skins we’ve seen for her are fire. Who really walks around in default skins for very long? It kinda makes sense that heroes look bland and basic in default, incentivizes players to buy cosmetics.

I genuinely don’t see how she’s similar to Tracer, but I don’t mind her design.

Well she’s designed to be an anime waifu.

Yeah. Something about feels weird to me, though I’m probabaly going to warm up to it like when Orisa was shown.

As far as the Tracer thing goes, the teleport to allies bit really takes the wind out of my sails.

Pause the part in the trailer where she laughs: https://youtu.be/_Uc-kExqwd4?t=66

Tell me that doesn’t look like Tracer with the clothes swapped?

They failed
The fox is the real waifu

I can see a bit of similarities, but she’s not a copy and paste of tracer, especially when you compare their body types

I was more hyped over the fake leaked design ngl. People said that it doesn’t fit OW because its too anime but this one is even more cutesy waifu designed.

While true, you’re forgetting something: this is the default skin.

As in, the one that will show up in media, cinematics, and cutscenes.

Idk, I watched the animated short and thought she looked fine. Fit in with the whole Japanese vibe. Vaguely Geisha-esque but also a little punk with the hair. I liked it and didn’t find it underwhelming at all. Subjective, I guess. :woman_shrugging:

yea, they noticed a certain type of “artist” really liked tracer so my guess is they are just adding heroes that those… “artists” are going to love. notice anything in common with the heroes that have came out for OW2? besides all the weirdos on twitter going “ID DIE FOR HER” for all of them…

Yep, her standard design looks so lazy made.
But i guess they making them worse now since they want you to pay for skins asap.
Pathetic game, pathetic devs

Looks fine. I even like the default skin.

My problem with the design is how muted it is.

We already have a traditional Japanese attire (Hanzo) and a sci-fi Japanese (Genji). I was expecting her to be a mix of the two: a middleground.

Something along the lines of KDA Akali: traditional Japanese attire mixed with graffiti/punk aesthetic.

I KNOW I fell in love with her when I saw her witch skin haha

I’m glad that most of the ideas for visuals did not come to be.

Because she’s a Miko first and foremost. That’s like complaining that D.Va doesn’t look like a rabbit, or doesn’t have a rabbit theme, despite her associated animal being a rabbit. At least Kiriko’s mask + her hair design make her have a “fox” motif. D.Va has… A bunny rabbit weapon charm on her gun.

It’s a children’s festival mask, given to her by a literal child. What were you expecting?

Finally, something we can agree on, and something they went out of their way to prove. Free BP holders only get two epic skins (Cassidy & Winston) whereas premium pass holders get 1 mythic, 5 legendary, and 1 epic skin, and the weekly rotating FOMO will have legendary skins (Lucio, Junkrat, Echo, etc.) for purchase, lest they be gone forever. Plus JQ and Kiriko get two very nice (but also purchase FOMO) legendaries for Junkenstein.
