Anybody Else Feel Like Characters Have A “Popular” Phase?

What I mean by this, is that I feel like most characters have a phase for about a week, where every game you get into , you’re gonna run into that one character, but then after a week, you rarely see them again.

Example for me, when Bastion and Torb were gone, I ran into a Genji 98% of games, almost as if I kept running into Genji mains. Then when Bastion and Torb come back, all the Genji mains just faded into existence. For the past few days it feels like Reaper was the new craze, but I’m running into less Reapers slowly.

Is this just me? I thought it would fun and funny to talk about. I’m curious though.

I’ve been seeing winston constantly lately, probably people trying to mimic OWL picks.

There weren’t this many winstons before OWL

Actually I have been noticing that too. For a short burst, there would be a popular phase where you would run into a specific hero a lot more often than usual. Even in non competitive modes like QP or arcade.

My theory is that they are either trying out new hero changes, or trying to main OWL’s meta heroes.

It feels weird, the rise of characters just for them to fade away is crazy!
