Anybody been having performance issues

There’s an easy fix for that.

There’s an extra chip that slows down your machine so that it’s accurate down to the tiniest fraction of a second.

Unless you are doing scientific research or high speed stock trading, you probably don’t need that kind of accuracy.

Some people have doubled their framerates by turning that off:

Didn’t work for me. I’ve been having performance issues ever since I upgraded to a GTX 1070. Some say it’s RAM for me, and only having a single stick of it, I decided to try the “Disable HPET” thing. Gave me about 30 extra frames, but nowhere near the 230 I expect from the card. I’m getting approx 150 on average.

Well, carefully, investigate if XMP RAM settings is the answer.

Also maybe look into Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

Be warned, tweaking voltage settings can be risky.

Do your research first.

I don’t really want to overclock my CPU, as I don’t have a good thermal paste application. Was fixing my PC once as it bootlooped, and I forgot to put more thermal paste on the CPU. Still have some on the heatsink, though. It isn’t throttling either. I think it’s because of the single stick of DDR4 memory.

Well, XMP is mostly related to RAM voltage settings.

I don’t think it’ll do much, as my B150M motherboard, an MSI B150M Pro-D only accepts 2133 MHz RAM from what I’ve seen. Also, the fact that I flashed a bios to put a 7700K in the board might be something to do with it, but I highly doubt it.

Well like you said, only 8gb RAM and a CPU that’s running hot.

You could try deleting your game settings via the b net app. Other solutions would be to uninstall and install the graphics driver. Repair the game. There’s no reason to suffer with a 1070. Although, I did have severe fps drops with multiple Hams on 1080.

84C is a lot, but it isn’t throttling. 8GB of RAM has nothing to do with it, as at most, I can get RAM usage up to about 7GB. Single channel memory is the problem.

The GPU isn’t the problem. It’s not being fully utilized in game, and I already tried all of that. None of it worked.

Then let’s try some cpu things? Task manager and set game priority to above normal or high. There’s also eliminating the red thread from ‘analyze wait chain’ but I’ve seen no difference after doing so.

Once again, Overwatch only uses about 50% CPU, and I only get 60% GPU. It’s mostly in combat, so it can be a game issue too.

I full realize this is about computer performance, but I’m dying to make a joke about other areas in life where performance issues is a problem…

Theres a misconception about HPET & What it actually does. All it does is hide the frame drops from your frame counter.

However I myself have disabled HPET & Have had no ill effects.
