as title really, bronze is filling with strangest players.
sometimes super easy to kill player or not group and rushing to death,
sometimes teammate that cant hold its own,
sometimes 3 of the teammate cant kill 1 guy,
leavers, 4dps team comp… etc.
but most ridiculous is that, you met players that can single handed your team from time to time.
met a widow can headshot everyone and spawn camp the team.
also a tracer kills support and some of the dps everytime they went out of the spawn room.
and god McCree that make you cant live over 5 secs when you see him.
these guys really shouldn’t play in Bronze.
why are they even in bronze really.
we can win 1300 rating team sometimes but cant win 750 rating team from time to time…
This acct. is stuck in bronze, I bought a second and it’s in high plat now, and hopefully gonna hit diamond this season. There are many like me, and the issue is that if I play comp, I wreck poop. Soooo MM puts me with potatoes so unless I carry my face off, we loose. ( even if I do, still…). This is why you see what your seeing.
The system is broken because of MMR. Until it’s fixed, what your experiencing won’t change, you’ll run into it in Silver, Gold, Plat and Diamond, with Plat, Diamond, and Masters players being WAY out of place because of MMR.
you cant leave bronze unless you do a 6stack. Its just a hell hole of griefers and smurfs. Dont bother reporting tho it does nothing. You can call them out on the forums but bill will always delete it to cover their system being trash.
This is my reality. Granted, I doubt I’m Diamond or anything. I do think I’m mid-Gold. Thanks to this system, I’m never getting out of silver again. I carried a game with Hanzo ffs and that’s not even close to someone I use a lot.
With that being said, I’m not giving Blizzard more money because their system is terrible. I’ll just stay in low sliver/high bronze and look like a God with my slightly above average Widow since “that’s where I belong”.
yeah, I’ve got 5 golds multiple times in bronze. I think my record is 61 elims and 31-32k damage, still lost the match. That should tell you something.
Yep, this is true. I’ve maintained high plat/low diamond since S1 on ps4, so my game sense is decent enough. When I switched to pc, adjusting to m/kb took me a bit, but that’s fine. I was placed in the 1700 range or so. I climbed to 1932 with a 60% win rate, then I decided to play on a weekend. I ran into game after game after game of throwers, griefers, and feeders who were obviously trying to throw each game. They’d emote hello 1vs6 and die without ever firing a shot. This happened at least 10 games in a row. I’d even queue dodge to try to avoid it, but I had no luck. I lost something like 15+ straight games due to it, with a few draws in between by hard carrying 5vs6 as the thrower tried their best to lose. My account is now in the 1300 range or bronze. Everytime I hard carry a few games, I hit a couple thrower games after, which nullify any SR gains I’ve made. I checked c0derwatch, which estimates your SR range based on stats for each hero, thinking maybe I’m really just a bad player. Of the 4 heroes I’ve played in comp, all rank around 2200+ good. All of them. Overbuff says my stats are better than 90% of players in my SR range, and it also says i belong in gold. My mechanics on m/kb aren’t the best, so I don’t deserve the rank I’ve maintained on ps4, but I know I’m not a Bronze player. That said, I cannot climb due to both throwers and also the way MMR works. I get potatoes for teammates that the game expects me to hard carry each game, and I’m simply not good enough to maintain the hard carry every single game, especially not with throwers on my team. While they also exist on the enemy team, I’ve been incredibly unlucky with getting that. I went from a 60% win rate down to 40% in a single day due to the throwers. It tilted me down almost 1000 SR. One single unlucky day did that. I’m now unable to climb back up. Maybe if i played 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, I’d be able to grind it back, but then what? What if I get another string of throwers and trolls? Is this how blizzard envisioned the comp system to work? PBSR means nothing if you have a feeder or two on your team. You rarely will pop off 5vs6 when the enemy team has their ults every single teamfight. It just doesn’t happen. I’m not a pro doing bronze to gm runs, so carrying these games every single time isn’t something the game should require to get to where you should be. It’s failed me on this account, that’s for sure. It’s failed other legitimate bronze players as well, since they have to face players like me every game, rather than face legitimate bronze players (at least statistically) for better, fair games. It hurts everyone involved, and it’s ridiculous.
The best part is the latest video about the “avoid” feature where they talk about how they don’t want this new feature to interupt the great balanced games they’re able to provide for us right now. xD Blizz doesn’t seem to be aware that there’s a problem with matchmaking.
i think the match system do have problems, but not to the point of ruining its purpose, it’s still usable. i complained Elo Hell before, felt i can never get out it. After several seasons, i can now steady gain 40~80 points per day, not accounting disconnect. disconnect counted as leave and lost you 50 points, really harsh, but unfortunately i usually get one disconnect every 1 day or every 2 days. So sometime i ended up net decrease on the day, but now i can see the hope to get out of bronze, with the steady gains.
for me, i did over 200 hours Quickplay practice after losing 1300 rating to 650. In my Quickplay, Winning is not the focus, usually practice aim & try out different strategies, unless met a good setup team.
my actual skill rating might be mid-silver now (own guessing).
i think, for the system now, u cant climb if you are bronze or just silver, you need to be way better than your rank to climb (not ranking up, just climb points, you need to be way better), once you notice that everytime you die, you team lose the fight. that’s when you are going to climb steadily.
I also notice that aim is not the reason that win you games, position is.
you can miss shots, that’s ok. If you are out of position of your hero, you will die fast and die a lot, and thus provide no value to the team.
it is just that:
Diamond skill level players play in bronze,
Disconnect, and 4dps wont change, really annoys me.
(p.s. i never get disconnected in other games, only in overwatch.)
as for ranking up.
From my past experience i get now, you cant expect to ranked up in a month or something. it will take 1 or 2 season for you to be ranked up if you are way better than your rank. which means 2-4 months.
and if you are not way better than your rank? then it will take half a year and above, thus the “never get of out xxx rank”, “Elo Hell” feelings.
the competitive mode is not so player-emotion friendly.
you need to be close to gold, in order to get ranked up to silver from bronze, for example.
otherwise, due to leavers, bad team comp, trolls, etc. your speed of climbing wont catch the speed of your losing games.
MMR effecting your gain/lose overall speed, but it is just adjustment, no single MMR adjust will match the points of a lost.
Yeah, its pretty crap down here. I posted about this the other day as well that I think I play somewhere around 30-40% of my games w/players that are 3500+ or better 95% of the time. And, my guess would be because I’m gold bordered but in bronze/silver rank.
Just this weekend played against a 3 stack of GM players, all 3900-4200 pts all flucking around in 1300-1450 bronze. Completely retarded, waste of EVERYONES time.
Thing is ANY person w/less than 100 levels I now automatically check and my guestimate would be 40-60% of them are smurfs trolling through lower ranks for giggles. The other thing when checking their profile is that they ALWAYS. ALWAYS. Have a hero they WIN on and a hero they LOSE on.
