Any tracer tips?

I think my biggest problem is my mechanical aim i can’t seem to one clip ppl

The world doesn’t need more heroes

I think people picking up Tracer are intimidated by how everyone goes on about her being a high skill hero, but luckily she’s as easy as

  1. Lower your sensitivity
  2. Find an enemy support
  3. Place your crosshair over their head (body works too once they’re low enough)
  4. Hold left click (in case of emergency, hit E and try again from the beginning)

BOOM, now you’re dominating! Just let your tiny hitbox and game’s-best-mobility do all the work for you and you’ll be golden

try to get closer to them and preferably blink behind them so they don’t shoot you in the face

It is not trivial to one-clip people. If they are moving in an unpredictable way, it is as good as impossible.

Many Tracers that one-clip sneak up on people so they can attack them unaware, at least it gives a big head-start, and maybe result in a one-clip. The easiest to one-clip is a scoping Widowmaker and Ana, because they can move very little while scoped. Your damage is so high, that on an immobile target, you can kill them before they can react.

It is also possible to one-clip targets that move in predictable patterns. If a target is moving in a straight line, if it is running away from you, or if it is jumping. A jump can be manipulated very little, and is therefore quite predictable (also think about that if you want to avoid being one-clipped - jumping at the wrong time can be very dangerous against a good player).

Watch kabaji on twitch .tv. An extremely good top500 Tracer, who constantly explains what goes through his head while playing.

I’ve seen good Tracers be able to one clip, it’s a bit difficult to do so but it is possible. Learn to do a melee attack after clipping though, it is basically free damage and if the target is on low health it should finish them off.

what about the rest of her kit because you only elaborated on an exaggerated truth

like, yeah you put the crosshair over them, but then you also have to predict movement and where they’ll move

“just click on their heads”

Well OP asked how to oneclip, not how to duel/brawl in the middle of a teamfight

But sure, why not; do all of that up there but press the Shift key a few times, now you’re brawling on the point

One of my favorite things to do as tracer is blink behind someone, then immediately blink back to my previous position - usually trips up the target and I catch them while they’re trying to turn around to deal with me.

find what you feel comfortable when it comes to sensitivity, then take that and practice on all the heroes hitboxes, however eventually you’ll get this feel for a sort of lock-on for the heroes

once you have that down, you just have to get a feel for her mobility

Not exactly sure why but a lot of the times when I get a one clip off in a fight it’s when I blink next to someone instead of right behind them. It may throw off the way they try to dodge, a lot of times they walk back in a straight line and it’s easier to put the whole clip into them.

In general though it’s all about learning how deep you can get without getting 1 shotted. You can’t dance around heroes like Roadhog and S76, but there are plenty others you can get more aggressive with. Like with all heroes, try to bully the ones that are the easiest for you. Tracer has unlimited mobility so you should be able to always pick your targets.

Give up. If you can’t one clip every 200hp hero the first time you play Tracer you are worse than 99% of the Tracers playing the game. The forum is full of commentary proving this indisputable fact.

Jk xD It takes practice, a lot. Fight the urge to chip at people from a distance and alert them to your presence. You have to get pretty close otherwise the spread will make it impossible.

Well, at least you know what your problem is: tracking.
All i can say is keep practicing and one day you will get to the point where you comfortably one clip people.
But don’t sweat it too much, the pros can’t consistently one clip people.

I also feel i am too predictable like i dont straife either

You never played any Tracer.

I have nearly 550 hours of Tracer across two accounts. I’m not great, but I am okay, so with that being said here is my biggest tip:

Chill. From my experience, it’s all too easy to go into a game with Tracer and get into the ‘Tracer mindset’. You’re here, you’re there, you’re everywhere and oh **** you used up all your blinks and now you’re dead. And worst of all, you didn’t hit a damn thing. You still need to play methodically with Tracer, calmly selecting targets and shooting them in the head. Don’t go into a duel and immediately start dodging without taking stock of your position, where your first blink will take you and where the enemy is in relation to this.

One of the hardest parts about playing Tracer is that you have to process information at such incredible speed. But you still need to take your time, because if you start rushing then you will just feed.

So, don’t forget to breath. Stay calm. You won’t always be able to do it, and it’s okay to spazz out now and then with blinks and trying to dodge, but the less you do this the better your aim will be.

Play without crosshair in practice range and/or for a few games and practice your eye tracking. It makes a huge difference.

You should never look at your crosshair when aiming with Tracer.
