i do though, my experience tells me so
he isnt one of the best and hasnt been good for awhile now. to highlight this, top 500 and pro metas were in a winston+zarya/dva dive meta, but genji was still bottom tier compared to other dps. in a comp where he should be able to succeed, he still was a mediocre of not bad dps pick.
i dont get why so many think that genji is so inherently broken. he has many options in his kit but that doesnt automatically make him a top tier. everyone just seems biased against him because he is a popular choice.
it hasnt been proven what so ever that genji is “one of the best” characters in the recent balance patches, so i dont know where people get it from. if you truely believe that genji is one of the best picks in the recent metas then please enlighten me.

Genji is easiest to shoot while he’s jumping imo. I have this aim training mode where he jumps ( along with rest of cast ). Also wait out deflect.

he is popular and has a commonly enjoyed playstlye. that is why people in metal ranks play him. and if you are talking about nano blade being good then you are right. nanoblade is good, but that is the only thing in his kit that has good value.
no they dont. just because someone doesnt know how to deal with a bastion, doesnt make bastion a good/reliable pick. the same thing applies here.
EDIT: the countless examples from recent solo queue meta picks to OWL team compositions prove the misconception of genji being a strong pick wrong.

Hack prevents him from using dash, he cannot retreat to his team while hacked.
Also if blades than either hack him or EMP him.
just stop. i used an extreme to make a point and you know that. the same rule i talked about applies to every character. if you dont know how to deal with any character, then that character will exploit you ignorance. that is why bad heroes are able to work in metal ranks, because people in lower ranks have less game knowledge. some characters can exploit that and it is you job to learn the match up.

For Ana, try and hit the sleep. And be aware that you can anti him and heal yourself even when he’s reflecting if you throw the nade at your feet rather than at him.
As for Soldier, keep your distance. You should be able to win the 1v1 from afar, but when he’s in your face hopping about, it’s significantly harder lol
