Any tips against Reinhardt?

I’m struggling so hard to understand how to play against him. It’s insane. It’s my personal counter. Yes, I probably do not play the right matchups but still, in overwatch you can most of the time adapt your playstyle to circumvent some of our char weaknesses. It is definitely not my case.
Anything would be sincerely appriciated.
Forgot to say that I’m talking about tank matchups. But any other tips is still welcomed.

Don’t neglect keeping pressure on his shield. I know… I know… “shields are boring to shoot!”

But it’s his primary advantage and if you neglect breaking it, he’s going to steam roll that booty

range is always reins main weakness. double ranged dps. could be hitscan- you can focus the shield first then shred.

or go pharah & echo. rein cant do jack.

or go full dive into their backline, a rein can only peel so much.
zen perma discord is a lot of pressure too. limits enemy rein freedom and the amount they can aggro.

DPS obviously going to be either long rang or things that might be able to separate him from his team, like a Mei wall.
Flying heroes like Pharah and Echo work great. He won’t be able to do much against Ashe, Widow, Hanzo and Soldier either.
As for tanks, Zarya is a decent option.
Orisa is great. She can completely deny his charge. Either Javelin him oder Fortify. Spin also gets rid of his fire strikes, as well as pushing him back if he gets close to your supports.
Ramattra can do a good job as well, his punches go through Reins shield, he can also put pressure on Reins shield while having his own shield up. Just be mindful of the rest of Reins Team. An Ana can easily screw you over by sleeping you, making you an easy target against Rein.

Try using a tank with vertical mobility. It won’t work on all maps (like Kings Row that is incredible flat) - but most of the times it works. Just taking high ground with say D.Va and shooting him from behind the shield while your DPS break the barrier usually works.

Of course, it all comes down to how well your DPS are managing versus theirs and what supports are doing but that’s why it’s a team game.

Mirror is best, do you not play Reinhardt?

Nobody has actual tips for you because you’re not providing any legit questions. How you deal with hero X depends on the 9 other heroes, the map, the skill/rank of those players and all the circumstances evolved around the whole ordeal. Otherwise the answer is always go Widow and just click their teammates’ heads and then finish Rein off in a 1v5

bastion and melt him

As much as I hate giving this advice because I enjoy playing Rein, Orisa completely shuts Rein down. Orisa is really easy to play as well.

As Orisa shoot Rein’s shield or body, careful not to overheat your gun or it goes on cool down. If Rein gets to close, use your spiny spear to push him away. Spiny spear gives you an immediate speed boost, then a smaller speed boost that last slightly long then the spiny spear animation. You can to push him away, then start backing up. Your spiny spear also eats Rein’s firestrikes, making them do no damage.

Save your throw spear for when he charges or because you just want him to have no fun. Constantly be following Rein around shooting at him until he goes back into cover. If he starts walking at you, spiny spear to back him up, then go back to shooting at him as you walk away. Spiny spear liberally, use your throw spear when he drops his shield or charges.

Your last cd is fort, you want to save this for if the rein is about to shatter, he is about to charge and you do not have spear, or you are at risk of dying. Try to space your cd’s out. Spiny Spear, Throw Spear, then if you have to fortify, but try and save fort for emergency’s. If you do not have Fort play safer, if you have it, play more aggressive.

Break his shield watch him run.
It’s that easy.

Hog, you can chew through him. You can literally walk through the shield and just one shot from hog will lower him down to half. Just avoid the pins but you are golden everywhere else. If he’s getting healed though then consider killing his healers first

I find when facing against a Reinhardt, it always comes down to the DPS making the most impact on the game. If your dps don’t either get picks flanking off angle, or focus on shredding his shield, the game is a lost unless you swap off and play ball and dive his backline solo, or Orisa if your support does heal and suzu you. Otherwise, go Reinhardt yourself.

Sigma is ok vs Reinhardt, since you can interrupt his charge with the rock.

Ram is not very good against Reinhardt unless you have good support player who can sleep Reinhardt’s charge, or Suzu you from his charge. Otherwise he just walks all over you. Furthermore, Reinhardt’s shield blocks Ram’s ult, ending it. The amount of time Reinhardt charge my Ram into my team, but the DPS is unable to melt him as the enemy Reinhardt slaughter my team. If you had decent DPS players on your team, the second the enemy Reinhardt charges your Ram, he gets melted by your dps. Ram vs Reinhardt, imo, is all about being patient and breaking his shield. I also find it mroe reliable to use the shield behind the enemy Reinhardt to prevent him from getting heal if the enemy Reinhardt likes to get into close range and start swinging.

Pick Tracer on DPS and learn to bomb him in the back when his shield is up. He literally can do nothing against tracer who manages her cooldowns and positioning. He wouldn’t hit her in 100 games and get blown up. Junkrat or Pharah can also just destroy shields and do damage easily.

On Support, sleep and nade can punish him a ton for bad positioning or using his charge. Ashe can also huck and shoot dynamite over shield and get their entire team burning.

On tank, Orisa. She can literally counter every single thing Rein wants to do, on reaction. Javelin vs charge. Keep shooting his shield all game, etc. Prob his worst MU.

As tank to tank : Orisa / Winston and in some way Dva.

Every Orisa skill can counter Rein charge. Javelin spin can also help to put Rein into a corner and expose his mates.

Winston lightning gets through the barrier and also you can focus on the mates behind rein.
Dva can dash through the barrier and can deliver continuous DPS to help the barrier going down.

Every tank that can flank are also good options ; Doomfist can make Rein feeling useless since he’s too mobile, can ignore the barrier and focus the supports. Ball will still charge ult faster and harass the supports.

Along your mates you can go for a Rein/Rein trench warfare if your DPS are ready to outdps the enemy team and break the barrier (Sym, Bastion, Soldier ; in a lesser efficient way but still doable : Junkrat Pharah).
Otherwise, flanking is a good strategy against any Barrier based composition.

Rein’s biggest weakness is his range. Keeping out of his reach is the easiest way to deny value. Play high ground that isn’t easily accessible to him. High and consistent burst damage to break his shield (Junkrat, Pharah, Hanzo, Bastion). Sombra is pretty effective against him to take down his barrier, (personal bias. I hate Sombra). Zen is a massive counter to Rein as well, solely with discord orb. A big part of playing Rein is to manage your shield. A way of doing that is to utilize your health and armor alongside your shield. Putting discord orb on him will absolutely shred through his armor and force him to play a lot more passively or shield bot. I usually just swap off Rein when I see Zen honestly.

Denying his firestrike is important as well. Especially with the damage increase, it’s the best way to build ult charge consistently and can be lethal to low HP heroes since he has 2 now.

His biggest counter by far (on tank) is Orisa. She has a consistent amount of damage that can easily pressure him and his shield, her fortify makes her immune to both pin and shatter and she can’t be displaced with hammer swings, she can eat his fire strikes with javelin spin and push Rein around/out of position, spearing him against the wall breaks tempo really hard and will almost always force him to give space, and her ult goes through his barrier.

I don’t play Orisa, and while I like playing Winston and D.Va, when you’re stuck with a sniper team who can’t get picks, you’re at the mercy of your DPS teammates. So Ram, Sigma, and Zarya is really the only two tanks I can play vs an enemy Reinhardt.

How is Junkerqueen vs Reinhardt match-up?

Either outrange him my picking mobile characters and long range ones or make composition to hold W into him. Reaper, Bastion, Torb, stuff like that and melt his shield. If he can’t engage because his shield melts in 3 seconds then he is just big shooting target and is completely useless. Add Zen or Ana on top of that to make sure he dies.

He is pretty good on flat maps which is where I recommend playing those hard damage comps. On maps with highgrounds like Dorado you just play highground with Monkey, D.Va, Ashe, Hanzo or whatever and laugh at him struggling to get to you.

So in short - break shield or bypass it. Don’t let him get close to you with shield ready and full hp.

Tanks - Winton, Rammatra, Orisa, Rein
Any dps that can spam + Tracer to pressure him with ur blinks, Sombra just to hack him on cd +++ Symmetra is very good vs shields, she can charge her primary and you get infinity ammo while attacking shields
Supps - Moira, you can pressure him with ur orb + your ultimate goes through shields. Brig is good too but be careful, he can swing you 3 times and you are dead

For a tank matchup? Orisa, Ram, D.Va.
Rein’s biggest weakness is range and stuns. Orisa completely shuts Rein down.

Javelin Spin not only gets rid of his firestrikes, it can also act as a CC to push him back or up into a corner. Javelin throw can interrupt his charge, but also acts as a great way to provide a window of opportunity for your team to pressure him. Fortify completely negates charge.

Rein makes space by using his shield. Break the shield, and Rein’s basically a sitting duck.
