Hey, Is there anyone here in the forum who play support and climbed, by himself, from low tier (bronze or silver) to high plat or diamond ?
NOT smurfs who use alt accounts
NOT boosters who pay for someone to carry them
NOT even ppl who were diamond, slide down to silver and climbed up again.
And NOT console player who were diamond on XBOX.
I’m asking for players who started fresh, were placed silver or bronze, and with hard work, and a lot of learning, and quit a bit of luck, were able to reach diamond or higher.
Personally, I feel that it is just impossible, every time I reach new career high, it will be follow by a killer losing streak, taking me back to where i’ve started.
My overwatch career is the definition of the term “sisyphus”
And i’m just wondering if anyone is feeling the same.
idk if i count, i placed at plat, stood around gold for a while then dropped to silver. then made my way up to masters.
i mostly filled, so support/tank only for the most part. honestly just ult to win.
But did you have any prior experience in the game? did you played overwatch before?
I did, from silver/gold to Diamond on zen. Not sure if I would be able to do it now tho with current state of zen in comp. But it doesnt mean its it not possible, just a little bit harder. It should be more easy with others supports.
Well I didnt start fresh exactly. My account was already somehwere on the gold/plat border. But I almost never played zen before I started to main him So I consider my starting skill with him as silver/gold. And with hard work and selfimproving I made it to Diamond. I posted like 2 games for review too so I could eliminate some mistakes and get some advice.
It wasnt easy. But if you focus and have a comp mindset and like to be better at what you do, its definitely possible.
Good start would be posting game for review for more experienced players. Then read the feedback and learn from it, go play more comp with new knowledge and when you will be stuck again, post the game for review again.
Yeah on my first account I climbed from silver to diamond with Ana before I even knew that her anti-nade prevents enemy healing.
I climbed from 600 sr to 2500 sr one tricking mercy
Its possible.
(I played with 50 hps in valk until about 2000 sr so i wasnt playing broken mercy)
I did. Went from silver to masters with support. i learned to flex support and play everything except Big Mercy (I just hate those heros) I recommend doing VOD reviews to see your mistakes and learn from them. Also this is might just me personally but I basically practiced a lot on just mechanical skill, then went to game sense.
I started off the game as a soldier one trick but I climbed from silver to diamond playing support when I realized I can’t just play dps so basically I could never do it without four dps so I just played support.
I started playing OW in s3 and ended in silver. I came over from CS:Go so I started off playing soldier, but ended up having to fill support so I started gaining hours on mercy. S3 = 11 hours, S4=38 hours. Finally in S5 after ~50 hours on mercy I climbed into plat. That season I played 87 hours on Mercy and I got into low diamond in S6. S7 I climbed mid diamond and then S8 I got into masters. I was also playing on a bad laptop and was getting around 30-40 fps. Do you find yourself stuck in silver?
Yes Ana/zen main here, OW was my first fps and I placed 1800 back in s3 and also like the guy above I was playing on an old laptop getting 30-40fps and using a stupid high dpi my first season. I got to plat pretty quickly tho but was stuck around 2900 for 3 seasons then spent another 4 in diamond before hitting masters.
Just saw all your hours on Moira and honestly it’s pretty sad, I think you’d benefit from playing a hero that wasn’t braindead and actually forced you to get good at the game. You might drop even lower at the start but it will be worth it in the long run.
I Climbed from 1400 to 2350 on Mercy, dropped to 1700.
Then practised loads of death match and Climbed up to gold with 80% win rate and then touched plat briefly.
Was with Lucio and Moira. Lucio is great in duels if you can get the drop on people. Eskay has a solid combo: headshots, punch, boop. Think that’s 210 damage in about one second. She just dives in to point blank range then unleashes the combo.
I did climb from <500 to diamond on Mercy, but fell down to plat and even gold right now since the hps nerf.
Started in silver, climbed to masters over the course of like 10 seasons. Absolutely doable but in small increments. Good luck
Started in gold, climbed to 3950 peak with Zenyatta/Lucio playing mostly solo (sometimes duo with my tank friend who had a similar climb to me).
Placed in silver back in Season 3. Hit 2900 in season 7 and frequently have mid-plat highs since. Haven’t been able to break the Diamond barrier yet though. I do get the feeling. I’m still in Gold/Silver with DPS and Tanks. I never want to be back in those ranks as support. The times I often spend in high gold post-placements are bad enough, but I finally placed in plat this season so hopefully those days may be behind me soon. I dont really do anything special, dont one trick, I play all supports.
I started the game in low bronze and recently peaked masters
In Old School Comp, I used to be in Platinum (Never made it to Diamond) with support. Took 2 years off because the toxicity was too much.
Came back to being locked into low silver and haven’t been able to get out of it.
Mercy pre nerf was kind of a hard carry in the low levels where people couldn’t aim. But! Mercy buff coming, just announced!!!
I went from 700 sr to 2.5k+ sr within 4-5 seasons because I became good at ana from just practicing her a lot.
