With the recoil soldier is harder to aim especially at long range, you are garanteed to fail shots. his rocket can be dodged most of the times just by jumping, his heal station can’t out heal burst. His running cancels his animations and takes time. His ulti can be out healed.
sojourn meanwhile has no recoil, crazy fire rate, easy to aim at long range, insta kill and burst dmg, a aoe granade that’s probably the most cheap ability in the game, slowing and doing 200 dmg, a fast dash with a jump for positioning, escaping, And her ulti can delete tanks out of existence.
this ignoring hitbox, where she might also be better.
So i ask again. Any point playing a char that has crazy recoil, or overtuned sojourn? Cuz if you want to keep sojourn op , fine by me, but reduce soldier’s recoil a bit.

you can adjust for the recoil. just hold down slightly when you’re firing. sojourn cant heal himself, or have 100% upkeep on their mobility, so soldier is more well rounded for offense OR defense points. soldier ultimate is also entirely different, and better vs aerial heroes like pharah or mercy ult. i guess if the team is very good at healing, then yes soldier is a worse hero pick, but if you get deadweight healers (like if you play at 4AM) then id pick soldier, so you dont have to keep running from respawn.

ive seen both her and soldier on one team but i think sojourn does need some nerfs while its nice to see powerful women in the game she is just flatout OP
If they did that, they might as well throw him in the support category, because that would become his new use.

Self heal. Thats about it, but Soj still has the mobility to play around health kits.

soldier sojourn is legit the worst to fight against. worse than genji tracer
Yeah, sometimes Sojourn can’t survive long enough and pulls a Genji…Runs off to solo fight and beg for healing.
S76 is hitscan, and you can burst fire like you should have to at long range, Sojourn is a projectile character
If you’re bad at sojourn or vs pharah
But why do you have to? Just play Sojourn and you never have to worry about recoil or aim spread again.

Oh yeah, there’s been such a paucity of powerful female heroes prior to Sojourn.
Head to Head, Soldier does more damage than sojourn, but barely
plus he is more accurate in general at longer ranges than she is, plus with the healing and burst damage at the ready, unlike soujourns needing to be charged up with damage. He is still a viable option from her.
How can i say this? I have been playing both and both are working out just fine with me
I am liking soujourn a little more, but thats because hitting those railgun headshots god dang elbow drops my joy button from the high rope

I would say Soldiers healing is probably a level of utility that can’t be neglected in teamfights with absurd amount of damage being put out.
Maybe Sojourn is OP though, honestly I can’t even hear her use her ultimate most of the time and don’t realize it till it’s killed me.
As of right now no, one of my main DPS heroes is Soldier 76 and she is pretty much better in every way except for the fact that she has no way to self sustain. The burst potential and ease of use on railgun just makes her damage crazy high right now along with disruptor field which does an insane amount of DPS.
because sojourn is overtuned, i have no idea why they dont have recoil or learning curve, but its a good point against soldier, if you arent good at managing the recoil. on the other hand, if you cant manage/learn recoil patterns with an assault rifle, i suggest you dont play other FPS!
Yes, soldier is way easier to play and way more forgiving. The lower your skill is, the better Soldier is for you in comparison to Sojourn.
