Any lw players mad

im fine with most his changes but letting petal go back down removes petal wall from the game which was one of my favorite ways to use petal, now i cant block doorways for more than 2 seconds with it, actively making petal less versatile and only really good for getting high ground isnt as fun, the better change would just be to lower cooldown and petal hp so you can use it for highground more without it being too strong when used selfishly and not remove alternative uses for it

Personally I don’t feel like the 2s is that bad. Blocking a door for 2 sec is quite nice, and a lot of DPS would probably kill the pedal anyways in 3-4 sec or so if a explosives, shotgun, or beam dps/tank when it was 400 HP. The 300 HP is honestly more worrisome because that brings it down quite a bit for popping out of the sky, breaking on the ground or like you said, blocking doors. Feels like pedal is a much more readly availabe tool for the team so feels like a net + since you can just leave one laying in a nice spot for immobile characters, and still let the recharge run its course.

A little, but not because of the descending thing. I think making petal platform reusable kind of swings more in favor of his viability than losing door blocking.

I’m more cranky about the health nerf on it tbh. It died if people shot it. People just didn’t shoot it.

People usually didn’t shoot at it because it took so damn long to kill that it was pointless.

Overall I’m a fan of all the LW changes. Been asking for more reasons to bust out the thorns for a long time.

I realized after a short while that it’s going to be harder to steal Winston’s bubble with the petal now, among some other niche things with deployables, but I guess it’s not such a big deal

The real question here is, who asked for such a change?
Petal was quite straightforward, but now it’s overengineered for barely any benefits.

The dash nerfs also make no sense.

And the elephant in the room is still the same: Life Grip.

To be fair, the whole patch is disconnected from reality, not just LW.

It still works on stairs, which is nice.
But yeah this rework definitely nerfed his creativity. Shame.

Yes but it also gained a use. Having a team elevator (that actually works) is huge, imo.
I’m pretty sure that me (plus my whole team) will get more use out of that than the occasional door block.

should be a button press. hold F to descent platform or somethin

Being able to lower platform again somehow is something people (myself included) asked for since the guy released.

I wouldn’t be against an option that disables it for those that prefer the corridor-blocking strat and whatnot.

The trouble there is that interact can be used already to destroy the platform in case the enemy capture it. My suggestion was that pressing the ability key again (I think it’s shift for me) would lower it, but Star pointed out that that would mess with some LW tech so that’s a no go, too.

I guess interact-to-lower could be an option in settings as well, but it would have to be mutually exclusive with interact-to-destroy.

As a Trollweaver, this is a valuable technique that I will forever miss…

These changes were such a let-down. I’ve waited for 1.5 years for him to finally be good, and they underdeliver with each update. Every time they promise to improve him… they tack on something no one asked for. Also, can we talk about them STILL not buffing weapon swap speed and the auto reload delay? All these changes… just for them to be net neutral at best.

I like the petal changes personally. Now I can constantly use it to travel from low to high ground.
As an aggresive WifeBeat…umm… Leaver, who prefers thorns instead of lotus, I find this a godsend. Now I can simply place a petal strategically beforehand and use it constantly, without the fear that someone will just waste it by accident.

It makes for great last moment escapes or swift offensive manouvers.

Before, when you or someone used it, it was just over and lost. Was pointless really for me. Now it’s a more of a strategic placement (like a turrent) that I or some other team member (of course they won’t unless their in my friends list and want to be nice to me) might use whenever they feel they might need it.

As for blocking doors, I still prefer Tree :stuck_out_tongue:

I know this is going to sound crazy but Lifeweaver should either have way more ammo, or outright unlimited ammo if they’re going to keep the clunky and slow weapon swap speed and the slow reload speeds.

The automatic regenerating heal blossom is nice but almost completely negated by the reload clunk.

I just realized that today and I’m kinda mad about it…

I predicted the changes to petal platform would be centered around LW having a button to decide if the petal platform is going up or down… It would have been a better change.

I was happy yesterday but I didn’t realize we wouldn’t be able to block doorway right away… :sob:

I like the changes to the heal charge since I can now actually do damage instead of having to be nonstop charging the stupid heals just to keep people up, but the rest of the changes were completely unnecessary in my opinion. LW was the last hero that needed any nerfs and platform disappearing after 2 seconds makes zero sense to me.

Lifeweaver players may be mad,
Deathweavers on the other hand… Their time has finally come.

As a Loseweaver, it turns out that we have common ground. If I can’t accidentally sabotage my team and you can’t deliberately sabotage your team with each and every ability including ultimate, what’s even the point? :wilted_flower:

His mobility while charging a heal is the only upgrade I like. I don’t like the changes overall, because they increased his ability to healing, while lowering his survivability. His healing numbers were fine. The petal with 300hp can now be one clipped, dash no longer gives enough self healing to survive.

I don’t like the petal platform changes. I much preferred the old mechanism of leaving it up in the air and manually breaking it if I needed/wanted to.

I’m not even sure you can deliberately break it any more, I need to test that.
