Any luck or tips for the challenge molten core

Any body won the game? I always reach the last Orisa Boss and we die.
I have to give it to blizz for the AI though hands up

Use Zen for the discord orbs for greater damage. Don’t face Orisa and Bastion head on. Use the walls and columns for cover and peek shot. First bastion is on the right side of the first door in turret mode. Second bastion is in far right top in turret mode. Third bastion enters from behind your team on tank mode and only enters if you kill the 2nd Orisa. 4th Bastion enters behind the 3rd and 4th Orisa on tank mode.

Did it with a team of (Me) Baptiste, Orisa and Torbjörn, fourth person quit at the beginning first try. (Solo-queue)
Baptiste can save others with field and his ult is good to kill the orisas, as is molten core and supercharger.
I heard Sym should be good as she can teleport her team through areas with a lot of magma

I personally found Sigma to be really useful. His shield gives your team cover from any damage, accretion can be used to stun the Bastions and temporarily take them out of turret form and his kinetic grasp can be easily used to build up a ton of shields.

I’ve beaten it twice. The team I used the first time was Orisa, Lucio, Pharah, Torb. The team i used the 2nd time was Lucio, Mercy, Orisa Torb. Lucio provides the best sustain healing, Orisa’s constant shields are nice against the bastions and orisas, Pharah doesnt have to worry about the lava, and Torb’s turret and molten core is great at cleaning up.

Similarly for Glass cannon I won with Lucio Orisa Winston and Torb. Lucio again for the constant healing and his shield ult, with those two any damage is quickly healed on everyone, Orisa’s constant shield to avoid damage in the first place plus ult for that sweet damage up on top of our damage buff already, Winston for the back up shields and aoe melting of the robots with the damage buff and his primary fire, Torb’s turret is a godsent with that damage up. The double shields helps against the one shotting Tank Bastions during the last half.

Just tested beat it with Reinhardt Zarya Torbjorn Mercy. I was testing to see how Rein fares in it since he’s melee. It’s beatable but I it requires managing your position a lot and having an off tank helps a lot.

Orisa is much better just make sure not to put her shield on the ground during the payload phase as the enemy lava melts it fast.

We used the same strat that we used for legendary at the end:

ignore the first orisa…let her come towards you at first then go around the right and take out all the bastions first (she’ll stay by door)…the other orisas don’t spawn until you take out the previous one…that way you only have to deal with one type of enemy at a time (although the tank bastions that come at intervals will start spawning as soon as you take out the first orisa)

I beat it the first time pretty easy, effortlessly

The cheese comp is Baptiste / Bastion / Torbjorn / Orisa but I beat it while playing soldier with randoms, forgot who the others were.

Bapt, Orisa, Trob, Mccree / solider.

Dont push foward too fast, or at all on the final part. Just kill the first Orisa and Bastion and stay around there, just do chip damage to the rest.

My Friends and i one shot this using Ana, Zen, 76, and Ashe. Just keep them at ranged. Disco high priority targets, use Sleep dart if more than one high priority, or if you have a high priority but are also dealing with some creep. Sleep dart also helps with the last phases “Surprise BASTIONS!” to help get into better positions.

It’s funny how most people still fail to understand that in Uprising as a whole. Even on expert story mode you can win the war of attrition by having the torb focus on the orisas. Just don’t peak corners without the tank and retreat with him behind corners when the shield breaks. The 3rd bastion in that section is really of no concern since you can get the last 2 orisas without even being in his line of sight.

I think its cause the other parts before feel like a rush, you have to take things out quickly or you get overwhelmed with enemies.

But that isnt the case in the final stage. You can take your time. But people want to dive in and be aggressive.

I like to use Hanzo’s ult to clear the bastions, since he can just shoot them through the walls and they always spawn in the same locations.

Honestly the only rush part at all is the payload phases since you have to keep it safe and stalling it just piles more damage and enemies. Last part may feel like a rush but even on expert the time limit is really, and I mean REALLY forgiving.

You can usually tell who doesn’t have the right mentality when you see people at the first point just camp outside instead of inside the point. It either needlessly splits the team or stalls the capture, and it doesn’t speed it up one bit.
