Zarya is a pretty hard matchup for JQ and in normal games I’d just swap off. You obviously can’t do that in stadium so what builds are there to be able to play into her? It feels like her bubbles still negate a ton of your value. Zarya in general still feels like a problem, especially in a mode with no hero swapping. I find I have to play into her pretty much the same way where I ignore her and try to proc bleed off her teammates. Idk what perks Zarya gets in stadium but it feels like she gets bubbles so often and there’s not much I can do.
It’s hard but I find you focus on boost your shouts ability
Booming voice
Shout reset on Elim
Damage Enemies on shout
High ability damage.
and just pray your team can do the bare minimum to pick off others around Zarya and make sure you get your fingers in all the pies so it counts in your favor.
Not focusing on damage coming from the bleeds I’d say
Weapon damage build would deal with Zarya, maybe an axe build with the double axe too. Just gotta get through those bubbles really.
There’s little you can do, unfortunately. All the builds “against” Zarya would imply that the enemy doesn’t react to what you do - but nowadays that’s a rarity since the game mode got more or less solved. If you will try to avoid strengthening your DoTs, that Zarya will likely respond with not improving her shields as much and instead burning through with sheer damage.
It’s not a JQ issue, it’s a Zarya one. She’s way too good with the lack of an obvious counter. And her scaling in Stadium is also crazy. Remember, Zarya was one of the few heroes that required exception in Mayhem and a special balancing act done for her. Not that Mayhem is that important, but it goes to show how scaling works at the extremes and that some heroes just benefit way more from it.
Probably double axe, bleed on shout and kills reset shout? If you can keep applying bleed quicker than Zarya can bubble, no problem right?
I’d avoid using JQ, seems like a throw pick and will likely lead to reports.
Hahahahahahahahaha
Oh wow
Well, I lost against JQ on Zarya many times, but also won against JQ many times as well. Its mostly depends on your dps and supports. If your dps can give enough pressure and force zarya to use all the bubbles, you can easily finish zarya off with double carnage. I believe the best Zarya counter in Stadium is mercy, also probably the best support. With mercy, you can actually run over Zarya easily, even with dva. Because mercy has power that can increase heal on low hp teammates if you stack that with the weapon item that also boost healing on low hp teammates, you get +45% healing on top of weapon dmg buff, which means valk in every team fight(with the valk power and stats boost, valk group heal the entire team at 150+ hps while also applying dmg boost, and mercy can pistol at the same time dealing very high dmg as well, it pretty much a free win button. Unlike oneshot fire strike, Zarya dont really have high burst dmg that can burst though this kind of healing, unless her teammatss has healing reduction abilities, even at high energy, she wont able to kill a tank pocketed by the mercy.
Zarya vs. JQ is a pretty even match-up, but Stadium can put a few rubs that can lean into one side’s (largely Zarya’s) advantage.
All the above strategies can work, but it’s important to realize than to get rid of Zarya, you need to overwhelm her and eliminate her quickly with focus-fired and coordinated attacks. Failing that, isolating her from her team can also help, and Junker Queen wouldn’t be able to do that on her own without her team. So considering the Commanding Shout builds that empower her team to shut down Zarya’s team and then go after her.
