So i was trying to make a similar hero to an old one i did but with a twist,
The point of this hero is to cater to a different type of players, that are mostly intrested in strategy rather than mechanical skill while still incorporating some kind of mechanical skill during its ultimate,
Its suposed to furfill a DPS Utility role, Similar to sombra, in a way that its really good at gathering intel for the team,
Here is the concept:
Anubis
Anubs is another RTS based hero, Similar to my Athena concept, But different enough for it to be a different experience, or atleast thats its intention
Defense hero (DPS)
Lore:
Despite Fareeha Amari´s and her Attempts against the AI, after the destruction of the AI, one of the wounded engineers left behind by the Squad survived the attack and managed to recover a part of its code, bringing it back towards theor computer, and attempting to salvage its God program, Shortly after bleeding out and dying from his/her wounds, In a stream of emotion, pherhaps guilt, pheraps something else, Not even the AI could understand what was this feeling, from Anubis by seeing the person who saved it die in front of them, As a token of appreciation, it imported the engineers mind into a powerful secret proyect it had worked on, Nicknamed the “enforcer”, a powerful Omnic soldier capable of taking large amounts of damage and kill anyone in its way, All of the Research for the prototype were lost thus the enforcer remaining as the only unit, With the engineers counciousness inside of it, and both together, now join the overwatch rooster to get revenge of Fareeha
Movement scheme:
Anubis, Beeing a complete different type of hero need an explanation for even how to move it
Starting On the view, The player is controlling a drone high on the sky, that is seeing the battle from up there, The drone can see the whole map, However, Only 12m around all of Anubis team, The objective (Only if its captured / on their side) , and its own Unit will be completely visible, The rest will be darkened and she won’t be able to see past this range any enemies or whathever is in there,
Using WASD moves the drone that is in the sky, moving the visual area, using Space Or CTtrl zooms In and zooms out, The drone cannot be damaged or destroyed,
The enforcer
Anubis has a SINGLE unit she can control at any time, nicknamed the enforcer, This An omnic unit has around 900 HP or more, Similar to BOB in a way, similar in size but its holding a rifle that does 60 damage per second, Its gun for the sake of the example lets imagine its similar to soldiers, A rifle with small spread, The enforcer just like bob can contest objectives, be healed, Boosted, etc
It also has two abilities (Note the abilities only work when the unit is selected by the player, if not it will activate the heros itself ability):
Pressing Shift Will cause the unit to crouch down, holstering their weapon, and slowly start healing itself at a rate of 75 healing per second (No cooldown, infinite duration), This healing effect is canceled by damage, and if shot it will go back to shooting position and retaliate at the closest target,
Its other ability, Bound to E, is a small frontal barrier on the unit with 600 HP shield that only covers the unit for 5s on a 12s cooldown, starting when ability finishes
Other than that, Right click on an enemy will cause the Enforcer , to target the player that it was clicked on, Chasing them until they are dead or the enforcer is destroyed, Thus is must be used carefully or you might cause your only in field unit to suicide rush into the enemy and leave your team in a 5v6. If there is not a targeted person, the Enforcer will automatically shoot at the closest enemy within line of sight, Its important to notice that the Player cannot tell the unit to attack an enemy if they are not within the “view range” of the player.
Right clicking in any space will cause the enforcer to walk to it as well as entering in the “auto shoot” mode I mentioned earlier, where it shoots the closest player within its line of sight
If the enforcer is killed, It will go the normal respawn time for a player, then it will respawn and can be controlled again,
The Hero gallery will show the enforcers respawn time, since the hero itself cannot die,
Ability 1: Camera
Pressing E while the enforcer isn’t selected will bring out a camera that can be placed anywhere within the map including walls ceelings, etc , Once placed, it can be clicked on to enter a Camera view mode that views the entire map from the position of the camera where it can be controlled by moving the mouse around, 10s cooldown per camera, 2 charges, Limit of 5 cameras, each cameras has 50 health 50
Ability 2: Trophy System
Bound to shift, Brings out a deployable that can be placed on the ground that acts upon a 10m radious around itself, it destroys one out of every 3 proyectiles that come inside its range, (33%), it has roughly around 150 HP
Ultimate: Takeover
Anubis will take manual control over the enforcer for 20 seconds, Increasing its damage base by 50%, it also can headshot
The point of this hero is to add a little bit of a more “strategic” dps, more based on strategy ability usage and positioning rather than pure mechanical skill
The hero was designed in such a way as well so that it doesnt play itself, similarly to how people claim some builders or heroes of a similar archetype do, As leaving the enforcer without orders will just make it a turret with more hp that stands still until it dies, and then its just AFK in spawn,
It also has an Intel gathering function as well to make it more fitting for high level play,
So what do you think?
