Another winstreak complaint <-------------

Missed my first win streak complaint? Well here is another one.

Currently 6-0, I think I bottomed out in silver and now they’re giving me some decent teammates.

All started on 27-5
19-8

Went 63-6 : TR2FZN
Then 23-3 : FR4BVW

Sadly streak ended on flash point… 23-9: 64C63B

It feels weird cause I feel like I am best DPS on both teams, so either I’m on “regular” queue, and everyone around me is AT rank, vs “losers queue” which will probably kick in and they seem to find “better” dps than I, but my team stays the same skill level.

Now here it is… me not being consistent. Second loss, 6-5 EVB0FY… (lets not mention MY tank being 7-11)… and their DPS being above board and my team not caring. Stomped out. My assumptions, if I keep playing, which I won’t, it would be nonstop losses like this. But lets see what tomorrow brings.

Broh clearly you are just on a tilt, its gambler fallacy man, the fact the dispuation on the subject has not appliciablity or relation to overwatch does not matter. Its simply what it is. The system is fine, working as intended. Also for novelties sake.

GIT GUD SON!

I simply refuse to believe it.

  1. When the developer himself says the system can be better - “fine” is then relative, and I don’t consider it so.

  2. Gambler fallacy - would only occur if this was my first account, first 9 games. This has been a pattern by me and many others (even confirmed by more devs over countless seasons and years. No small sample here). After win streaks, the system tries to find the worst teammates and the best opponents. It does so and creates stomps by the people it picks and puts onto teams.

  3. By all means let’s see what happens tomorrow.

No it doesn’t, you are higher mmr, so you face better players, you have an ego from winning and you expect to lose so you blame every mistake your team makes.

We know.

Doesn’t mean it is wrong though.

I’ve been noticing your threads quite a bit. You got up to high plat one time right?

I went on a loss streak after facing decay and fell from high plat on dps. It is nice feeling to blame but the reality if you don’t keep up with the skills of the general populace you get left behind.

I had to focus on thinking how to outsmart and I’m climbing back up. You watching your vods but when you put so much time into how others did badly you aren’t focusing on yourself.

I got to mid diamond. And while maintaining a 50% win rate I dropped down to low gold over multiple seasons.

200-300 games a season. All the while had two coaching sessions, multiple vods and adding more hours to aim labs, nearing 75, but yea the general public must be doing more than that.

Yea system fine…

Incorrect. I’ve had streaks more than 6. I never expect to lose. Matter of facts had another win streak now close to plat.

Does it make sense to be stuck low gold for most season than jump to high gold without a gradual grind?

Doesn’t make it right. The dev told me on twitter the system can be better on stomps and streaks. I went to the source and the source confirmed, by passing (incentivized) European discord groups.

So sorry if I don’t take someone’s word that it’s “fine”. Maybe fine for them, but relative to me and others, it can be better.

Yea it’s super obvious. When you’re in the winner queue you just need to play below average to win games. In a loser queue you have to play perfect (by your own standards of perfect not like some top 500 or owl player) just to even have a shot at winning but still not guaranteed.

I’ve seen fluctuations like this, I’ve been playing against several people that peaked at mid diamond. I still personally managed to get over my losing and climbing back up to where I was before despite an extended break/my casual nature.

Two sessions and putting in the time you put in is not unusual in this day in age, serious people may even pay for 10+ coaching sessions just to get to diamond. Nature of competitive.

The difference in play between low gold and high gold is the least of any rank because there are so many people in it. So not suprising you can move around it quite easily.

Sorry I resorted to rank… I meant to type, losing streaks and potatoes in low gold gold than poof two sets of winning streaks and some 50/50 play.

I’m finally following the best advice given to me, I stop playing a role if I lose two games in a row.

It’s been months. What amazes me is how you genuinely think any of this matters.

Play, have fun. If no fun, stop play. Easy.

It’s been years sir. With my background- I’ve been told if something doesn’t feel right, you have to speak up about it.

Evil thrives when good people do nothing.

Obfuscation on match making / team balancing on a great game that I believe causes losing streaks and rank manipulation, may not be evil, but certainly doesn’t feel great.

This makes it even worse

You’re a good person? Not going to comment…

Remember it’s a video game.
You’re having skill issues
The game isn’t doing anything to stop you having fun and enjoying some chill games.

When skill is a one of MANY factors to match making / team balancing, I cannot agree.

The game does stop me from having fun by using algorithms that use many factors, most hidden. I keep playing on the anticipation… of a good game, that’s more of a gamblers fallacy per session (but not for career).

Me: oh I had a good game, next game will be just as good
Match maker: here, this next match looks good on paper!
Me: stomp, ahh well gg go next, let me avoid THIS guy
Match maker: hmmm you lost that last one, here let me adjust your behind the curtains rating again. Here’s another good match on paper.
Me: damn they got a leaver… still won but just emoting on point was not super fun
Match maker: hey you won against hard opponents! Let’s make the game really fun now!
Me: wtf is THIS game? Tank is oblivious, and their dps have diamond titles… but I’m only mid gold
Rank system: yup diamonds and golds can group together so we can put them in the same game! You guys have the same Mmr, surely you can win!

On and on… it’s the anticipation that the next game is good cause yes… every once in awhile, even on a loss, the game can be fun.

I do love how you make up what’s going on and then run with it like it’s fact.

You’re entertaining, I’ll give you that.

Must be or that ignore button surely isn’t working.

Why would i ignore now. Seeing you’re plight is quite amusing.

Honestly though. It really doesn’t matter. It’s just a video game. Life’s too short to be this worried about it

Definitely- I add a little story to my “I did 5-[1,2,3] but didn’t rank up”. Gee golly the forum is being flooded with those.

And in 6 months - two years someone will necro those threads again… and it will still be relevant.

Another clown whos hardstuck due to his own ineptitude and blaming some nebulous matchmaking conspiracy. There’s an endless supply of these people in these forums.
