This is actually a really good small patch. And I hate to say it to all the D.Va haters who told me that Winston wasn’t stronger than D.Va, but “I told you so.”
Winston needed nerfs but not huge ones. I’m not sure this is the right nerf but it’s a nerf.
Ashe actually was doing really well despite it being a dive meta with all the 225 HP heroes and the 30% damage boost Mercy. I can’t say that I love the bullet reload nerf. I don’t like that because it will make her feel clunkier. But the damage nerf is good. They should revert the reload speed IMO.
Sombra nerfed and in a way that fits with the biggest complaints about her lethality
Juno buffed and in a way that makes her feel more fluid.
Small but decent patch. I suspect in the larger mid-season patch that there will be some armor changes. That’s my guess. Either that or a change to the tank passive either how it interacts with the DPS passive or the headshot reduction. Or possibly a combination of these things.
If I’m gonna nitpick the patch, I’m pretty unconvinced that Ashe needed changes. I assume she was doing well, but do we think she was outside of a healthy performance range? I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if this is purely the cost of the Mercy buffs .
Overall fairly happy with the patch. I hope they find a different path forward for armored tanks eventually though.
I absolutely thing she was doing better than well. She is easily top 3 dps this season. And she will stay top3 dps as this is a nothingburger nerf. She shoots old hanzo arrows with 1 hs 1 body shot on 225hp heroes with really generous falloff range
Was literally gonna say it was probably cause of Mercy buffs cause in no way did Ashe need changes.
Yet again Mercy being the result of hitscan getting damage nerfs lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw nerfs to other common heroes she pockets, cause you know damn well they aren’t going to nerf her dmg boost.
If anything, the thing about Ashe that needed nerfs was her dynamite. The AoE is complete BS and it’s such easily value.
Juno has not been nerfed. The fire rate changes compensate for the values per bullet being lowered. She still does the same damage and healing she did pre-hotfix.
It’s the wrong nerf and any nerf will keep being the wrong nerf until they either reduce the amount of armor he and dva have or flat out revert the armor back to how it originally was.
Dva not being nerfed doesnt mean winston was stronger it just means the dev team are clueless which matches their track record
Winston actually has counterplay and you can kill him. Unlike dva. Anyone with any brains looks at this patch and questions what the devs team are smoking when winston is being nerfed over dva. Even flats’ reaction, a tank players, is like ???
Winston is an honest hero who you dont mind when you get killed by. Dva is a toxic broken piece of trash. Notice the difference?
One of the worst patches to date. None of the heroes touched either needed changes, ashe and winston, or in sombra and junos case the changes they did get were badly made and havent changed anything
A good patch should shift the needle. Expect sombra dva to be in every game for the next 2 weeks as they have been the last 2. Nothing significant has changed to shift the meta away from them
Strong and OP aren’t the same thing. Nobody is going to say D.Va is weak. She is strong. But is she uniquely strong amongst tanks aka OP? No. If she was broken like the forums claimed then she absolutely would have been nerfed, no question. Sombra was with a similar outcry.
That said I expect a global armor change or something along those lines mid-season. Maybe make armor 40% across the board? Probably not but that could be an interesting change. Weaker than current 50% or nothing armor but stronger than 30% armor.
I’m highly intrigued to give Martian Girl another try. I havent liked how she’s felt at all since she’s gone live, but this seems like a solid buff for her.
Winston nerf is a little… “why that?” But a nerf is a nerf, and he needed one. I dont think that one but… perhaps they’ll tinker with him more at mid-season.
