Another "can't join voice chat" thread

Hello,

I have a strange issue, I can’t join voice chat with this account, but I can join it with another account on same pc with the same in-game settings.

I’ve tried everything :

  • updating drivers
  • disabling firewall (windows’)
  • uninstalling overwatch and installing it again.
  • cheking every mic options (and it’s obviously working as I’m able to use voice chat on the same pc with another account)
  • no other app is using the mic at the same time (and even if, why another account works fine with the same initial conditions?)
  • reset my router / modem

I have no idea why this happens. (and i have of course no notification about me being “chat banned”)

That’s a bit weird that voice chat works with one account but not your main one. Since it’s specific, my first guess would be to check the privacy settings for your Battle.net account. Sometimes toggling the voice chat on and off is needed to get things working. Here’s a direct link to that area.

If there is still a problem, can you test if an alternative connection shows any different results?

I didn’t thought looking in my account options, this solved the issue :

is there a solution for “laggy voices” and long initial loading times when joining voicechat?
since i came back, i have said issues and i never had that before.
