If I can’t kill you you shouldn’t be able to do anything. It should be little different from just being in the spawn room.
It will never not be toxic to me that you can deal damage with complete certainty that you won’t die for at least 0.5 seconds.
People should not EVER be actively contributing to a fight at any time where they cannot be interacted with.
If you want to contribute to a fight and be safer, walk to a safer position. That is what is skillful and interesting about the game. Not Being forced to bait out a cooldown before I can make a risky attempt at a kill.
You may have a point here, but 0.5 second is not that massive.
We had pseudo-immortalities since the launch of OW. Zarya bubble being a clear example, where the person is invincible for a second while able to fight.
Reinhardt is almost invincible when holding barrier, but he can’t do anything, which is fair.
Then we started to get more Zarya-like interactions later on, with Sigma and Orisa fighting behind their barrier, Baptiste fighting inside immo field, Kiriko fighting during suzu for a fraction of a second.
But all in all, I don’t believe that any of these interactions is that relevant in 2025.
High sustain is no longer the meta at any rank.
