Anniversary event in 4 days, fastest way to earn lootboxes

I know most of us probably already know all of these details, but just to help out those who don’t, here’s how maximize your XP gain

  1. form a group

Groups receive 20% extra XP after every match

  1. Pick a hero that can almost guarantee a medal

Mercy for gold healing/Orisa for gold objective time/Soldier or Junkrat for gold damage. A gold medal grants 150xp

  1. Do not leave or re-queue

backfill is 400xp, match finish is 300xp, and consecutive matches are 300xp. You only gain consecutive match bonuses if you don’t ever “leave”. You have to let the game queue for you

  1. Don’t sweat over obviously lost games

A victory is a 500xp bonus, but each second a match goes on for is 3.4xp. even if you make no progress, a fully played out match is still about 1020xp

And lastly let me clarify, forming a group is the most important aspect of this. the 20%xp bonus is HUGE. If you don’t have any friends who play overwatch, or are online, use the “stay as team” button in the bottom right of a match. Just keep using it, someone is bound to join you eventually

What if I told you I’ll just buy 50 loot boxes because I already have like 67 saved up

You’re enabling gaming companies to continue being greedy then.

Activision (which owns Blizzard) gets away with the stuff they do because they know there’s people who will shell out billions into their wallets, no matter how far they push the envelope of greed and anti-consumer practices.

I mean go for it, y’all who buy lootboxes keep this game alive. But also your 67 stocked up lootboxes won’t give you anniversary items

What if I told you that I know they don’t I just want the coins because I almost have every Item and duplicates will drop like hot cakes so I can directly buy skins wooo

I dont shell out billions, and plus how else will the game be so constantly update like it does, it’s cosmetics and people buy to support the game. All those developers need to get paid for working on this game and how else will they do that if 0 dollars are coming from the game.

Either everyone pays $10 a month to play with everything unlocked or they have something that will generate them some kind of income to keep the servers running

Thanks for the tips! I constantly forget if you leave after and join another without letting the game queue you, it doesn’t count as consecutive!

Question about the group XP: Does having more people in the group increase XP gained or no?

Buy 200 loot boxes and have luck with legendary.

:man_facepalming: They are a business. They are selling a product. Why would they be greedy?

Do we know what the leg skins are and for who? I know just junkrat and 2 epics for soldier and tracer. If anyone knows more is there a link to them?

You can be a consumer friendly business.

See: Project CD red

Compare their practices to EA and Activisions and get back to me

They can keep the game going through copies sold.

They make hundreds of millions in profit. They can more than afford to keep Overwatch running off of game sales alone.

There was once a time in gaming where there were no microtransactions, believe it or not. Something few new gamers seem to know. A time where games supported themselves by making a good game, not by putting mechanics in the game designed from the ground up to appeal to addiction and wasting your time to frustrate you into buying RNG lootboxes.

Nope. Would be cool though.

idk if this has been mentioned yet, but your first win of the day can get you extra exp, and you can get free loots in the arcade menu for every three game wins.

They also have to pay for overwatch leauge that aint cheap

Also invite your teammates to group at the beginning of a match. You only need one person for the bonus.

My friend gets his XP up to right where he just has to win ONE GAME to get a lootbox, let’s the event update happen, and then goes straight to arcade. You get the free ‘hey this is a gift for you!’ box, another box, and arcade boxes too fairly quickly.

Did you forget that everyone had to buy this game? They earned enough (30 million copies is nothing to sneeze at) to keep all their developers busy for years and still be in the positive.

  1. earn the first two wins, that way only 1 win is required to get the first lootbox in arcade
  2. make sure your xp level is one game away from leveling up and getting a lootbox
  3. group with people for 20% extra exp
