at the end of the trailer. I don’t know where the specific one is set but … it’s so “nepal” that frankly I don’t know how to judge it as a good job that will bring visual variety to the game locations …

We’ve actually had footage of this for a while.
But I remember theories/leaks that it was for a new game mode.
I’m assuming that was just made up though.

I really doubt they would ever release a new map that looks so much like Nepal. Unless it were Deathmatch or something.
That or they do what they did for Numbani: a rework of the map to go hand in hand with the hero release.
However, maybe they change more than they did on Numbani (a visual on the cart and a spawn room wasn’t that much and no change to how the map plays after all).

Where in the stream is that from? This does look like a deathmatch map.
I’m not gonna give timestamps because it’s a 40 minute video, but they’re both from the June stream.
I also don’t see Deathmatch in that. It’s got what looks like payload/push tracks.

one of the areas seems to me a mix between payload and c2p map.
but the feeling remains: “nepal without being nepal”. hello hanamura / kanezaka, but I wonder if this little stylistic difference is acceptable in an actively ranked mode.

Fairly certain it’s confirmed for PVP. Especially given it being in the origin story like the OP said.
(Though all maps are technically going to be used in the PVE fyi)

There’s no way the India map isn’t Vishkar related.

They did say an Indian map was coming, and Nepal is right next to India so of course architecture would be similar. Also the voice actor for ramattra has Indian heritage.
I didnt watch it so this might be off topic, but id love to have a map set in a small city surrounded by a lush green forest we dont see that shade of green too often
Maybe we will get Sanjay with the India map?
