Its especially the worst on the weekend.

One acct is playing in gold and one in mid diamond. Completely diffrent game between ranks but the 50 50 mm finds mirror stats for low elos so its gold smurfs vs gold smurfs the diffrence is whether the smurf will swap to get the win it has nothing to do with mechanical skill any more for dps

Yup. its like this in diamond as well. Most “diamond” dps this season are masters/gms avoiding queue times and its honestly gotten tiring and boring to play with them while they wave their dicks at eachother. Me and my buddy have been making fun of them and calling them pro smurf gods (which annoys them when they realise you have 0 respect for their “skill”) bc guess what, nobody cares that your smurfing unless your a streamer they like. its 2020.
And before all the hardstuck comments come in, ive hit masters. I do believe that to get the next rank you should be able to outperform smurfs if you deserve that rank. But i shouldnt be playing with new accounts every single game that flame, brag about their “mains” sr and soft throw for no reason

I wait 10+ minutes for competitive masters matches only to play a blowout game full of diamonds and high plats.

I swap to my alt, wait 4 minutes for a plat queue only to be the toughest match of my life filled with other smurfs.

It’s a severely flawed system.

I see former masters players in my plat games all the time. I’ve written post after post about alt, smurf, and high rank accounts. No one cares, and JK himself has said smurfs aren’t that big of a problem.

Ranked means nothing at all. You are correct. The allowance of multiple accounts keeps this game from being great.

The worst part about that is T500 is more like T200. Everyone up there has 2-3 smurfs on the leaderboard. Not to mention those that make T500 to sell. It takes the chance away from anyone else who’s so close to that cusp. Even further down, masters and diamond are just littered with smurfs as of recent, making each game a blowout or throwfest.

If Blizzard actually gave 2 turds about their competitive game mode they’d implement a mobile authentication or some other 2FA solution. I’m not saying implement it for all modes, just for competitive. You don’t see professional athletes putting on fake mustaches and dominating high school matches, so why should it be different here if they’re trying to promote e-sports in any fashion.

Take your sport seriously, Blizzard.

I love the “git gud” argument because it’s saying that you have two choices—be a masters level player or get stomped on.

The fact that masters players want to play in gold is mind boggling. If I ever climb to masters, I won’t waste my time in gold or plat. Why work so hard to get somewhere just to play in the rank you escaped?

Even in high plat/ low diamond its obnoxious to have masters dps smurfs in my games. I should not have to play on a masters level to get diamond. The other issue is said smurfs using m+kb on console to boost thier friends. Ruins the game for everyone. Before you say “git gud” a gold player shouldn’t have to play on a diamond level to reach plat. I’ve have several of my games where I’m about to hit diamond be ruined by some masters smurf or a m+kb widow ashe or hanzo that its getting obnoxious

just think of the majority of hardcore gamers. can‘t say there is nothing wrong with them. there are some REALLY messed up personalities out there, that take all their self-respect and -worth from being good at video games :joy:

As you should, friend. I am tired of winning two matches in a row (in the 2600s), only to be placed against a lvl 46 diamond account.

If I was approaching diamond, I can see being placed against them, but I’m not. I should not have to beat diamond players, a rank I have hit once in my OW career, to hit mid plat.

All alt accounts should be deleted - a system of one account per/player needs engineered to make the game fun again. There is zero need for an alt account, ZERO.

Any reason you come up with can and SHOULD be done with your primary account.

Punishment needs to be regressed if that were done, and the whole report system overhauled. There are people still serving stacked automated silences from 2016 for one-tricking on what would be their main acc.

Actually the system is not designed to ensure masters climb out of gold, but rather, it’s based on a reward for performance dependent on how well you do, with the match being made up of two teams of players equally skilled, which means if you have two master’s level players they each have a 50% chance to win and one will take a hit, even if it’s less than the other one, meaning that you statistically can remain in gold as a master’s level player indefinitely.
