Yes they will a good combo if you want to eliminate them is shoot, use grenade, than shoot again should finish most 200hp heroes

That explains why people would put me to sleep and leave me there

There is a 0.5s window where someone can take damage after being slept without waking(during the falling over animation). After that any damage will wake them, with another .5s recovery animation.

Fun facts about sleep dart:

  • You can shoot slept target as much as you want before they hit the ground (for example if you slept a Pharah and they’re falling from the air)
  • If you wait until they’re about to wake up naturally (the timing must be perfect), you can get 2 shots in before they’re fully “awake” (good for killing Tracers)
  • Non-damaging abilities such as Pharah boop don’t wake them up

Even if a dva fires at 60km away and does virtually no damage, she still wakes up.

Didn’t get that, d.va si the enemy put to sleep or an ally?

Why I have to wait for them to wake up naturally instead of waking them up with the first shot? Is the time required to wake up shorter if I wake them up with one shot rather than they wake up naturally?

It is this scenario:

  1. Ana sleeps someone
  2. D.va (on ana’s team) shoots from far away, and one of her pellets hits the sleeping enemy waking them up, even though it did next to no damage

Couldn’t explain better myself!

Any form of damage wakes them up, but if they’re still falling (pharah slept when she was flying) she’ll not wake up until hitting the ground.

If you wake them up until they’re about to wake up by themselves they have a longer animation, so you can do your combo at that time.

You leave them sleeping till they wake up to get a longer duration on them getting up so you can get more shots in.
Its not always optimal but its good to do on certain targets
Tracer, genji etc

If you shoot them immediately after they’ve been slept they wake up faster and a Tracer has time to recall before your 2nd shot on them.

If you wait until sleep is almost about to expire in its own to shoot them they wake up slower and a Tracer doesn’t have time to recall before your 2nd shot on them.

There are videos that explain it as well as the timing of it. It’s just a fun fact that is sometimes helpful if you can pull it off.
