Ana nano has slight heal delay

During a match I put nanoboost on my Orisa as she was low health. My ult charge went to 0%, Ana said her voice line, Orisa glowed for a split moment while enemy Rein swung and she died.

AKA: Orisa did not get the 300 health boost. And no, since the enemy had no Ana she definately was not purple and couldn’t be healed.

I see two possibilities (or both together):

  • First is that no healing in this game is actually instantly. Some regenerate a lot per second but still not instant. So if Orisa’s HP was too low, the enemy Rein might have hit her before she got healed enough to survive his attack. (Buffs on Rein, Orb of Discord, other people attacking with burst damage, etc may be other factors)
  • Lag. Though this game prioritize the shooter, latency still have effects. The game would let you see Orisa nanoboosted, but in the server she was already down or had way less HP than you thought.

Also don’t ever underestimate what focused fire can do. Many times as Wrecking Ball I used his shield when I should get at least 300 and didn’t even see it coming up from focused/burst fire.

Patch notes at least claim instantly heals the target for 300 health and Nanoboost is hit scan (that can’t be DMed by Diva). So Devs at least claim the first should not be a thing as it supposedly is instant.

I suppose second could be an issue…

I suppose by "instant " they mean it starts immediately (Instead of her normal unscoped healing that have a fraction of second delay to start), not that it instantly heals the 300 HP. Poorly chosen words but I think it’s to set that difference.

Hmmm… I could see that. Even if much faster, her kit outside of the grenade is over-time healing. But if that is the case, yes it is poorly worded on the Devs part.
