Ana is in 91% of GM comps

If you play 11 games, Ana will likely be on your team in 10 of them. Why isn’t anyone talking about this? Is it because she’s ‘skillful’?

Why isn’t anyone talking about this?

Most of the forum’s player base are low to medium ranked players. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not GM… I’m diamond and there’s not much of a difference between an Ana and a Mercy here.

Partly yes and people in GM actually enjoy playing her? Eapecially if they’re flexing as support.

Ironically enough, Ana doesn’t take much “skill” in the current meta (skill as the way people usually like to define it- aka perfect aim)

Triple tank + triple support GOATS is extremely meta in high ranks.

What does this mean?

Ana is only playing with and against tanks, making it incredibly easy for her to land healing shots, damage shots, sleep darts, and nades. Bigger hitboxes = less pinpoint accuracy required to play her.

Ana has zero pressure on her, she can sit in the backline with her other supports and heal her team from a distance. She has no risk of being dove.

Ana usually has 2 other healers on her team, Lucio/Zen + Brig. This means she has more breathing room when it comes to healing her team, and they can peel for her exceptionally well in the rare occasion that someone comes at her.

But hey, such a hard hero to play in this meta, positioning and aim have to be perfect! As a Mercy main myself, it’s refreshing to not have to worry about constantly dying like during dive meta. Ana is actually kind of relaxing, you can be impactful from a safe distance and not 15m away!

Because she isn’t OP, just meta like Reinhardt.

pub meta doesn’t actually reflect what’s really meta

if the support meta was more in line with pro games, zen would be in every game and so would lucio and brig

Because they complain about goats and reinhardt no time for old lady.

Ana isn’t insanely oppressive like Tracer, Doomfist, Pharah, etc.
OP? Maybe. Hell to fight? No.

Pro games aren’t really reflective of ladder though. For example, dive will never be as effective in random groups than well practised groups with rapport and high level communications.

Tracer and Pharah aren’t all too oppressive though. Ah well.

Ana needs a nerf. It’s obvious we need great mechanical skill to play her and it’s impossible to ask for the majority of the player base of Overwatch. For her to require that much skill and be rewarded is blasphemy.

Nano boost is OP, the heal needs to be nerfed to 100hp or so.

Everyone takes a massive amount of skill to play at GM, let’s not pretend Ana is a special snowflake.

Yup, this is the easiest meta to play ana in for sure, for all the reasons you stated. Still think she is overall the hardest support to play, but nothing in this meta is nearly as hard as past ones. Everything is just so forgiving with the amount of meat shields and healers around.

Because you can’t talk about GM problems because “you’re a gold player, so you think [X] and don’t deserve an opinion”

Only in masters and gm. In lower ranks Moira and mercy is played much more and you have to take in console too and Ana pickrate is no where close than it is on pc. And this is no where near when mercy was picked in literally every game every rank on all platforms

Why is that Ana is important in GM but not in gold? because she is HARD TO PLAY. If we can get that same amount of value in gold, it would be great but we can’t because she’s difficult to learn.

Give mercy back stock 60hp/s healing if you want to see less Ana.

I’d rather a healer who has to aim be at GM instead of a healer that requires no aiming whatsoever in any solar system

but her grenade is ridiculous and always has been

Doesn’t that just mean that if you play Mercy or Moira then it’s almost impossible to get to those ranks?
