when do you guys think VO work happens? early, middle or late hero development? im guessing late which probably means shes close to ready?? either way cant wait to try her out
You know the one thing I don’t know what to make of Sojourn is her gun robot arm… I mean, how does she get past airport security?!
same way bastion does id imagine
…
…sym teleporter
If her design is done (like it was last Blizzcon) then the character was ready. Art (model, texture, etc) is generally done at the end with finishing touches and balance at the end.
“Do you have any weapons or live animals you’d like to declare?”
um…
points
“WHATS THAT OVER THERE!!!”

I’d certainly hope it’s late and they’re close to that stage with all the heroes, otherwise OW2 is going to be far too late.
im curious if its the same VA thats done all her other lines (the few that exist)…Cherise Booth according to wiki
This might be silly, but what is VO?
Hopefully, or at the very least, I’d hope any new actress stayed close to the original tone and character.
All the wild flip flopping they did with Echo’s voice really hurt her imo.
Definitely later/late into development. The only times where it is early is if there is lip-sync involved and mouth animations. In a video game like this, it makes more sense to develop and perfect the kit, lore, etc. before starting on VO work to avoid inconsistencies.
welp unless im overlooking some other more obvious choice…im assuming VO is Voice Over…as in recording her lines
“Alamak!” - that was my favourite…
Anyway I would imagine Voicelines /dialogs are last part since or second to last. They have script written, personality nailed (maybe), everything comming together all that left is record voice over and animate some flaps.
Ooor they have only script written and still need to animate ton.
Jason Hill is the cinematic projector at Blizzard. His tweet wouldn’t be about hero VO, it would be VO for a cinematic - cinematic voice work is usually one of the earliest parts of development (so animators have something to animate to).
This is more likely for 2021’s Blizzcon short.
This makes sense…Heart broken then…though I do love the cinematics
