so noticed you guys added AMD FSR 2.2 in the most recent update of Season 5, but it seems that the custom resolution slider gets hard capped at 67% render resolution, making the game wicked blurry and just does not look good. Curious if this is working as intended? or if we are supposed to be able to max out resolution like you can with 1.0.
i have same problem with my rtx 4090…
same issue. it really confused me. using a 3080 ti
No News ? @blizzard ???
yeah that the point. fsr operate by rendering the game at a lower resolution (67% being the max and 50% being the minimum.) and upscaling it to native resolution and providing additional fps compared to native. However, using upscalers is rough on lower native resolution while on 4k look pretty good.
for example native res is 2160p(4k) and enabling fsr at 67%=1440p so it will upscale 1440p to 2160p
there is no point increasing the resolution scaler above 67% since you wouldn’t gain any fps as massive as <67%
Yes i have a 2k screen, and for fixed the blur ugly i use DSR for x2 my resolution
ah i see it now, so AMD FSR 2.2 just look icky compared to FSR 1.0 in game, because i’d rather downscale my game to like 90 rather than dipping it all the way down to 67 where it just looks horrible.
Also if you switch from 2.2 back to Off, it doesnt reset your render resolution.
This is perfectly normal and how FSR 2 normally functions in other games that have it implemented. The difference is that Overwatch 2 actually has finer control over the rendering resolution with a slider rather than other games that have the Quality, Balanced, and Performance presets.
In Overwatch 2 setting your resolution scale would be equal to these presets in other games.
67% = Quality
59% = Balanced
50% = Performance
