Am I understanding this correctly?
Players experience being destroyed by a certain hero in a game, and then they come to the forum and cry?

i just like certain maps
maps or modes?..(sry but i had to type 20 things)
i prefer symmetric game types, but the whole thing is kind of a solved game with pharah in it tbh
Isn’t every map symmetrical in some way?
hybrid, escort arent, and comp sure as hell isnt “both teams have the same opportunity on the map” anymore
More or less. There’s a lot of misperception, relatively little understanding of certain characteristics or nuances that certain heroes present, and if players can’t find a way around it, they tend to come here and complain.
A lot of it is founded on ignorance, and Blizzard does little to settle, clarify or teach players. A consistent complaint that’s gone on for years, is that the playerbase doesn’t really understand that debuffs (such as Biotic Grenade, Venom Mine, Burn, etc.) can be cleared, often by the heroes that they play, and has been a foundational component in the game since the original launched.
Additionally, confusing “immortality” abilities or phasing as being independent of clearing or cleansing debuffs, which has never been true. And something Blizzard has never really sought to clarify or educate the playerbase on how to deal with it.
Only Push, Flashpoint and Control. Clash is also symmetrical, but isn’t really all that great right now.
EDIT: Should mention that this isn’t exclusive to Overwatch or Overwatch 2, but happens it all of Blizzard’s competitive games or competitive components. There is a serious lack of information, education, or understanding when it comes to balancing discussions.
Still, there’s a lot of players who aren’t wrong about some imbalances.
I’ve been playing Overwatch since the beta and have basically learned the necessary reactions for every hero. But I also understand that when you’re new, you feel at a disadvantage against some heroes. But then you just have to tackle the learning curve and learn something.
yep thats what the forums are for. witchhunts and nerf this nerf that
i mean forums are usually the complaint place… no matter the game or even subject?
Yep. Makes perfect sense to me.
Why is there so much toxicity in Overwatch, though?
How come Marvel Rivals seems inscrutable in teaching players the ins-and-outs, either?
I think that’s just natural in online games. What can you do about it? There will always be someone who thinks they’re better than they are, or someone who’s just had a bad day. I don’t even think about it anymore…
Well imagine if Chess was a team game and you had team mates did not even know what an “en passant” was or how to castle a king.
Would you be willing to teach them in the heat of play? What would their response be? Would be reported on, in spite of your willingness to help and teach others?
It’s worse in Mahvel. People are racist against Black Panther and pretend as if he is Sombra. But he’s not Sombra. He actually takes skill.
Nah that character’s nothing but button mashing
Once you find a good sensitivity that’s about it for learning him
Not entirely true. They also come to cry because they lost a game and need to blame something. Lots of weak/non-existent mental games.
I mean that’s all games. Have you ever watched those “non gamer plays game for first time” videos. Their are a lot of things in games that devs just assume players will know what to do.
Pretty much, the forums are 3/4 cry posts and 1/4 useless nonsense no one cares about.
Current hate flavors are: Cass, Freja, Sojourn
When these gets inevitably adjusted to make people be quiet, they’ll move onto the next hero that makes them have to remotely try.
In before “braindead/cheese/too easy to do/low risk:high reward nonsense”
