Am I the only one upset 2CP Maps are gone for good?

They’ve completely removed all assault/2CP maps from the game. I was fine with the idea that they would be on rotation like Numbani, Rialto, etc. but they apparently removed them for good?? Am I the only one really upset?

There was really no reason to remove 2cp but 5v5 would have made it probably even worse to play.

Exactly. Like sure, maybe it would’ve been difficult, but why did they NEED to take a game mode away to add one?

Easily could make it an arcade game mode. Hanamura is probably one of my fav map aesthetics’ as well so I’d play some of it.

Exactly!! Like CTF isn’t a main gamemode for comp and such, but it’s still an option!! I can’t even express how sad I am to see all of those maps go!!

They didn’t remove 2CP so they could add Push lol. They removed it because the majority of people hated it and it was taking far too many resources to try and fix which could be spent on making new modes and maps.

I’m simply going off information I’ve been reading from various articles. All I know is that I’m sad 2CP is gone. Legit had some of my favorite maps

You can still play 2CP in custom games. They should probably stick a 2CP mode in the Arcade, though.

I want to say 2CP probably had enough evidence behind it that the game mode was extremely unfun for a large swath of people.

The game mode despite efforts can be won in only two team fights maintaining momentum from first point capture. It can also drag out into a long slog with generally incredibly tight choke points.

I suppose that is fair. I just have to agree with @Rawr. It could have at least been an arcade mode. I enjoyed (for example) sneaking behind enemy lines as Sombra to hack and attack. I enjoyed throwing Dva’s ult into the second objective, etc. I don’t feel like there was a good enough reason to FULLY remove it (excluding Custom). I mean, how many people are OBSESSED with CTF? All I’m saying is that if CTF can be in arcade I feel like it should be able to too

Yeah but I know a lot of people, including myself, don’t go to custom games to play the default game. I go there to see the creativity of other players, etc.

LOL- I personally like push but I know people who literally dread push maps and looked forwards to assault maps. I just hate that they add new modes to arcade and can’t add a classic mode that was loved even if it was just for the nostalgia.

yeah i don’t really see the appeal of removing content, i mean i ASSUME they’ll repurpose the maps for something and if it’s better than 2cp im all for it ofc but in the meantime id at least like to see em on arcade or just put back into the rotation so things stay more fresh

Yes!! Like I know they mentioned eventually trying to repurpose the maps due to the fact they hold lore, but as you said, who knows when that will be! We could be enjoying our maps in the meantime! And Fr! I have no clue why you would remove content— like now people new can never experience 2CP

Yea, like they were making push be in arcade, they could do like few days a month with 2cp as well there. No reason to just remove it.

But other than that, all 2cp go FK themselves…
