Always feel kinda weird about killing Mercy

Its like, oh congrats. I managed to kill a hero with a 1 second delay on her damage and 0 abilities she can use in a 1v1.

Bravo.
I’m so proud of myself…

Hey, maybe next I should congratulate myself for getting most damage blocked as Reinhardt!

Man, I did really great getting the most nanoboosts on my team as Ana!
And NO ONE COULD MATCH MY SPEED BOOST AMOUNT as Lucio!

I’m such a good player. It doesn’t at all hurt my pride as an FPS player to win a 1v1 like this.

Same thing for me, but with Zenyatta. Most of my shots are so off the mark, yet their considered headshots. Looked into what Zenyatta’s hitbox is, and it’s so unreal how much leniency for error is on that hero.

I don’t.

If I end up in a genuine 1v1 scenario against an enemy Mercy, either someone on my team did something incredibly right, or someone on her team did something incredibly wrong.

Killing her in a dueling situation may not be much of an accomplishment, but catching her and getting her into that position is.

I see your point but a good Mercy always has some tricks in her sleeve.

First of all, a lot of people don’t take into account that if your team runs any hero on the high ground or in the air, Mercy can simply disapear from the fight.

Second, super jump is super handy. Lets you get some range without a problem.

Third, You’d be surprised to understand her gun isn’t that bad… 74.1 damage per second for a support is very respectable.

Forth, you forget her damage boost, if she damage boost the right hero like Hanzo,Pharah,Junkrat,Bastion and etc… Suddenly killing her isn’t too simple…

Fifth, as a support she’s usually staying at the back lines making it hard for enemies to cross all of your team and reaching you. Sure dive is a thing but it’s still a nice defense.

And lastly, valkyrie is a thing, 20hp/s, free flying with high mobility, infinite ammo.
Trying to kill this is a big trouble …

So overall yeah, a lot of mercy don’t really take the hero into her maximum potential but be sure that when she’s a good mercy playing with the right team, taking her out may not be as easy as it is compared to fighting normal mercy players in rank…

Mercy has low damage. If she is alone she did something wrong or her allies did. And her high mobility makes her a priority target especially with rez capabilities.

i always assume people who willfully play her hate themselves and enjoy being punished so like. i’m helping them.

Killing mercy is the most satisfying thing in this game especially when your whole team is targeting anything else but her.

Also I usually win my duels as mercy in 1v1 against another dps so it really depends on the mercy.

I bought the game just because of her beams. I liked the color, the sound and the idea behind it.
Sadly I barely play her because I know some really good Mercy players and compared to them and to some I met in comp I feel bad (they literally never die and have like 23094234 rezzes while I manage 3 … at most).

Is it not 100?
20 damage per bullet, 5 bullets per second?
Or is this factoring in reloads or something?

I feel really good killing the enemy Mercy, it means the enemy team are one vital support down. Not sure what’s weird about it, catching aand hitting a good Mercy can be extremely difficult.

I feel extremely pleased with myself for killing Mercy because it means that I can stop chasing her around the hecking map due to her absurdly high mobility, plus I don’t have to worry about someone rezzing her.

i was gonna argue but yeah that’s fair i do hate myself… i don’t think that’s why i play her but idk bruv u got me

I commend myself in the sheer satisfaction of seeing her fall.
Comedy gold.

Experienced Mercys are annoying interlopers, and as a Genji player, it’s always a game of cat and mouse with them. I used to feel bad, but now, successfully catching them is satisfying.

I teabag bc its funny

As a flanker main I’m absolutely thrilled when I can drop Mercy as the first pick of a fight.

It’s not necessarily about her fighting back, it’s about dodging the shots of the person she’s latched onto, while landing yours on a character who’s probably the most evasive in game.

… You forgot the fact that she has some of the best and easiest - to - pull off mobility in the entire game on a tiny cool down, but that’s fine…

Oh, and who can forget her many mobility bugs… Eh, I mean… ““Features””…

Not really. I find that mercy players end up enjoying just how slippery she can be. She’s the most mobile support barring Lucio and can end up being damn near invulnerable if played right. Her value comes from staying alive and near her team, so being able to be slippery as a bar of soap is the name of the game with her. Catching a mercy player out cold is difficult if their understanding of just how mobile she can be is high enough.

You just need to understand how the game flows. Mercy is more of a brain character and less of a mechanics. While her super jump is cool and all, it’s sometimes more of a crutch than anything. If you position well you will rarely need it.

You need to understand how her beam actually works and why she’s a safe pick regardless of what’s on your team
