Last night during a competitive match in the in-game text chat, a Blizzard message appeared to me stating several members had reported me to game play sabotage and to press Alt F4 to appeal the action. I press the Alt F4, and was instantly disconnected from the game back to my desktop Blizzard app.
When I returned to the game, I had lost 50 SR and received a 5 min suspension since it was a competitive match.
The claim appears to have been false, and some sort of hack post done by likely one of the players in the match we were in.
I was not aware of this issue, so wanted to caution others before losing your hard earned SR to it like I did.

Hahahahaahah.
Wait, you were serious?
Let me laugh harder.
Blizz messages will have a BLUE BLIZZ icon next to their names. ALWAYS.
Let me guess their name was Blizurd?
They never name themselves stuff like that.
Also press the Tab key and see if they are in game with you.
As of likely they are.

I mean…
You were not knowing how it works, yeah. But since not knowing does not leave your without responsibility is the key, then it’s both like their and your fault.
Btw you should have reported them for abusive chat.
…
You fool of a Took.
ALT-F4 is probably the MOST well known windows key combo/command out there.
And it’s universally the same across programs/apps.
Alt-f4 = close whatever program you are in.

I don’t even play on the PC version and I know what Alt F4 does.

I guess I’ve probably never tried it in Overwatch, but most modern Blizzard games will respond to Alt+F4 by showing you a UI prompt telling you you’re about to close the game and making you confirm it first. Unless Overwatch is an exception to that for some reason, the events described here would be impossible.

its because for some odd reason blizzard allows players to copy paste inside the game chat so you can probably find a loophole for special letters
Nah people still fall for this in WoW.
It doesn’t say anything still.
I can’t say for other games.
I wish I was still this pure.

Never listen to people on the internet.
Use the Social Tab and see if they are in there.
Wait till you game is over and check your email. They will ALWAYS email you any info related to a Suspension. You will not be removed, less you are hacking.(You would know)

This is a WoW Gm message, but look at the left side of the pink text.
See the blue Blizz icon?
That will always be there. Always.
i wont lie, official or not, that is still creepy
What the GM said?
They usually role play their interactions.
I’ve had funnier ones multiple times.
