Allow us to disable/turn off animation on Lobby Screens

I have migraines that are triggered by flashing light. The current season 14 lobby menu image flashes between the Rein presets and causes me to have a migraine, making it so I cant play. I know you guys don’t care about accessibility from the looks of things, so this probably wont go anywhere (see ALL other posts about opting out of lobby animations)

why are you spending significant enough of time on the main menu to do that to yourself?

I wasnt even, i was watching a friend screenshare it, and we were watching the animations cause they looked cool, ya know, the reason the animation was made. All it takes is one good flash and a migraine starts for me. I don’t want to have to hurry and switch to another menu just to avoid triggers, just add a button to pause the background in accessibility settings, its not that hard. I hope you stay blessed enough to never deal with light sensitive migraines, theyre not easy

Only kind of a permanent fix, but you can manually change your menu screen to a different menu if you’re on PC, and it’ll stay that way until that menu gets removed from the game’s files.

Not sure about console logistics unfortunately

They patched this out, didn’t they? I had the lesserafim one for a while.

thank you! this is probably going to be what I do for this season, just want to not have to mod the game to fix something I believe should be in the game by default. I literally only have problems with white screens, everything else is fine. And yeah, I would also like to see this fixed for my console friends as well. I appreciate the help!

I sit there while in queue sometimes. Even if I’m playing with my phone or something, I have to swap to the hero gallery screen just to keep the screen at a minimal volume and non-distracting animation setting. I don’t want to mute the game, because I want to hear the queue pop.

I heard it depends on if its on steam or battle.net, as steam only has a certain amount of them

They removed the le sserafim menu, but you can still do it with the ones still in the game’s files. I ran lifeguard lifeweaver until the other day when I decided to check out the new menus. That link maintains instructions and a running list of active and removed menus

I agree! More accessibility options are always something I’m in favor of. I’m glad this at least helps your issue in the meantime, though

Awesome. I’m sick of the sound effects like the Soldier Mythic or the thunderclap from the new one every single time you return to the menu screen for even a second, or if you’re idling on it waiting for someone.

Yup. I liked the transformers menu for a few days then literally had to turn it off :sob::sob::sob:

Talking about more accessibility… Dark mode when blizz?

Tired of being flash banged every time I load up the game.

I’m with you on this. It might seem silly to people who don’t get it since Overwatch is a bright and flashy game, but it really does make a huge difference.

FFXIV added a flashbang login animation for the latest expansion and it’s awful.

There’s a huge difference between flashy colourful effects, and just having pure white burned into your retinas every time you load a program… Especially when you have every screen and other program in dark mode

YEP! I feel this on a deep spiritual level.

I can handle colorful effects and stuff, but a sudden bright white light can trigger a migraine for me.

I have everything on dark mode. I use Firefox extensions to make certain even websites are in dark mode.
