I’ve asked this before, but m&k users are prevalent on PS4, and it’s unfair for those of us who can’t or don’t want to buy the extensions to make it usable. These players destroy players using controllers and there’s nothing we can do about it. We can’t even report them because reports never go through on console.
Allowing us to use it on console will make it fairer in general and take away a lot of the problems console players face. You could make it so it detects m&k and removes aim assist. But right now, I am playing deathmatch against 3-4 players using m&k and it’s infuriating to lose because I didn’t buy an extension.
How can you tell when someone is using mouse and keyboard?

It has quick motions, and it will randomly stop moving for a second (where you have to pick up the mouse). Controllers have a smooth motion. When messaged, they said they had a “modded scuff controller.”
Unless you have aim smoothing on a low setting
It still wouldn’t have the quick move and pause that you see with a mouse. It’d have a smoother, continuous motion. Not move, pause, move, pause.
So it is allowed, but you don’t want…what a problem…
You have to buy some costly gear to make mouse and keyboard work. It’s not something the PS4 allows. The equipment fakes controller input signals from mouse and keyboard inputs.
It’s not as good as using a mouse on PC but it’s far better than a controller stick.

I was in a game with 5 smurfs yesterday, one of whom was using a XIM. Here are the telltales:
- Choppy, fast movements when flicking. This only applies to exponential, but can also be seen in dual zone.
- Smooth eight figure movements - these cannot be comfortably performed on a controller.
- Incredibly precise micro movements. While in theory you can do this, it is very difficult. If you see somebody who is playing very fluidly and doing this, they are most likely xim’ing
- Only A-D-A-D movement. No slower movements. Keyboards can’t replicate this.
I have a friend with a XIM, and even though they can only replicate controller movements, the real advantage comes in the precision they can replicate which realistically can’t be replicated in a controller, COMBINED with incredibly quick movements. There is also a definitive aim style, and they don’t really need to keep crosshairs centered as much due to much freer movement of their cursor. Normally, if you see a XIM player using linear, it’s stupid obvious.

No, it works. I can plug in a keyboard into my PS4 and it recognizes I’m using a keyboard. Other games allow you to do this, but Overwatch does not support it. The PS4 allows it, Overwatch does not

I don’t understand the issue. M+K is allowed on PS4 with the right attachments. It’s just that the PS4 isn’t set up to automatically recognize and support anything you plug into the USB. That’s not anything Blizzard has control over.
Rather than allow it, they should find a way to disable or ban it.
They could just play on PC with the rest of their m/kb brethren, but we all know they are trash when on an even playing field, so they have to bring their m/kb experience and waste money to trick the system into allowing that trash on the console version. All of you that do this are vermin.
It’s not allowed - That’s why it’s purposely not encouraged or cant be enabled in settings as it could with other games.
The only reason people can and do end up using K+M is because the console companies, Microsoft and Sony allow it themselves.
So whilst Overwatch in itself doesn’t allow it, they can buy extensions that will bypass the restrictions and make the game/engine believe they are playing on a controller when they are not.
No. The console WILL recognise a keyboard and mouse - it’s Overwatch itself that doesn’t allow for the usage of it.

you don’t know you just have to hope that they don’t insta-lock widow
Allow it or ban the people who plays in console with K&M.

No, you want K&M get a PC.
As much as I’d agree, it makes more sense to allow m&k on console to make it more fair for everyone, versus having people who can afford to throw away money to get an edge over other players. I shouldn’t need to buy extensions just to play against other people near my level.
This is a thing that’s confusing to me, but I’m with you.
But Console doesn’t play vs PC. So there is No reason for M+K on Console where everyone is supposed to use Controller.
