like honestly lol some people just need to accept they can’t play a hero

if you play genji and you want some buffs because honestly deflect is one of the worst abilities in overwatch, bar none, that is only useful in extenuating circumstances… you accept that.

you wish things were not as miserable as they were, but you accept that they are.

you accept that you are playing a trash hero with a trash primary fire, who has a trash design and is only not trash when he is blue and screaming about a dragon. you want the hero to be more than a blade bot. you accept that you are trash, playing trash and live with it.

but sombra players… noooo lol. they won’t be happy until this hero can make you walk off a cliff/into traffic with hack and 0-100 someone as soon as they pop on them when they already have infinite invis, indefinite sprint, easy repositioning and takes the one thing away from heroes that makes Overwatch different than any other shooter game: abilities.

Of course no one wants this hero to be meta / mainstream… Hack has never even functioned as a proper ability since Sombra was released. Tons and tons of people even before the hack speed buff can recount an endless number of tales where they got hacked through LOS etc.

All whining about this hero does is ruin her for people that actually get good playing her. They have to play a new hero every 6 months because people in silver can’t get a dva to stop shooting at them in invis from 100 yards away or pull off a hack that gets value without running multiple hacks on a player in consecutive succession lmao

part of playing a high skill hero and getting better at it is accepting you are too trash to play it to it’s full potential. otherwise, it would be a low skill hero like reaper that anyone can play. it’s about challenging yourself to be able to succeed where others cannot so that you have that edge if you need it.

and you know what? these people would find it obnoxious if everyone liked playing the same hero as them. but the fact of the matter is that every true specialist looks forward to an opportunity to assert their dominance over another and loves to flaunt the difference between their ability.

Specialist heroes aren’t for everyone. Either rise to the challenge or do not.

If Fitzy, widely considered the best Sombra player, is saying shes bad, then maybe she is bad right now.

As for me, I have over 300+ hours on her, and I can tell you 100% that shes in a terrible spot right now.

I just tried playing sombra. Her setup time for getting backline and hacking and how easily its interrupted and the cooldowns all add up to her relatively poor primary fire not making up for how much thought goes into playing her. She’s very bad. It’s better to play a damage heavy DPS than her almost every time.

They’re called Specialists because they’re meant to be used in Special situations, not in every single game, like a generalist would.

Just look at Sniper and Spy in competetive TF2 vs Soldier and Scout.

That is their problem, not yours.

The reason why they are not winning games is entirely different than the reason why most players are not winning games.

It is ridiculous that people attempt to pretend they are the same.

If it’s “gatekeeping” to point out people who want to play sombra but can’t should just accept that, what do you call it when people just accept they aren’t good enough to play widowmaker, tracer or genji?

No. A specialist player is exceptionally talented at a particular hero and can make them work in most situations, even when others cannot. They don’t have to one-trick the hero, but they do have to be notably better than everyone else.

This is the type of person OP is referring too. And those people are not finding much success with her either.

She’s objectively weak by every available metric that we have to judge a hero on. And that’s why the OP’s post is ridiculous.

It’s everyone’s problems. The reason they are not achieving success is the same reason nobody else can either, the hero is in bad shape.

yes it is still sombra’s fault sombra is not good when these people play her lmao

tracer’s stats were awful when she was nerfed

did not stop people who enjoyed playing that character from enjoying it

people are always looking for something else other than themselves to blame when they are not even competing anywhere near the top of ladder lmao

You have people in competative TF2 who main Heavy, they are godlike at it, and they can consistently mow down teams, but heavy is not applicable in 6v6 matches because he was built as a specialist to defend points, he can’t do the other half of the game, attacking points as well

And they didn’t improve until she was buffed. She was objectively weak.

Enjoyment =/= balance

Irrelevant. If a hero is weak in every objective and measurable way we have to evaluate a hero’s strengths, then they are weak. Truth is truth no matter who speaks it.

I don’t care. There is a difference between a person who specializes at a hero, and that hero’s role in the game. The OP is speaking on the former, as was I. A different defintion isn’t relevant and the word we used was correct.

your perception of low stats are what were par the course before overwatch league ever came into the picture lol.

The hero had a negative winrate in every rank below Diamond but people would just scream about this hero nonstop.

These so called “specialists”, dont even play sombra anymore lol. Fitzy plays mostly mei now, Mightyy has turned into a brig onetrick and codey has left sombra for ashe.

What did Sombra mains do to deserve getting screamed at for a character choice?

…and if your answer is “want endless buffs, and an OP character” then back that up with some evidence besides “because I said so!”
