With all this witch hunt going after healers right now… What are people thinking actually? They try to get every last healer nerfed into gutter and make them… lets be honest… not that fun to play in the end. While at same time they complain how no one is playing healers!
How do you think anyone will play a healer, if they are just not fun to play. If healing is made into chore, and healer mains get tired of the characters they play, who do you think will heal you then?
Why should all the healers be made into boring heal bots with zero other purpose or way to defend themselves? So dps players would have easier time to go and kill them? Try to think about this from healer’s point of view for a moment.
In my opinion, Brigitte’s shield bash against shields-nerf was good. But dont get the damage reduction. Mercy is better now, but she still feels like an usb cable you stick into your behind for heals and damage boost. Like someone said, Mercy is accessory, not a hero right now. And Moira is balanced as she is.
what support players tend to forget, is that they’re supposed to be destroyed by flankers and dps, and that their job is to provide the team with support, not fight and try to secure kill, you do that if you’re being attacked or if your team is engaging, a healer’s job is not to actively look for kills, except for zen who’s a dps hybrid.
im mostly a support player, and i think both healing AND damage had quite some power creep. both burst healing and burst damage need to be toned down across a lot of heroes.
im not saying “nerf this particular healer cus i dont like them” but i think too much healing is the reason why burst damage is so valuable in the first place, and why triple tank is again popular.
Supports get nerfs more often because they are the heroes that dictate the meta. The enable tanks to do everything, and in turn allow DPS to do their thing. Everything is based on which supports are strong, and tanks, then dps follow
anti flankers and tanks.
healers can help, but a healer will not have the edge against a flanker, look at zen per exemple: a very good zen will outplay a good genji but a very good genji will outplay a very good zen, this is the order of things
Normally I’m defending dps but I’m going to have to disagree with you here. No it’s not a supports purpose to be destroyed by dps flankers, yes flankers should have an advantage but counter play and the ability for supports to hold their own needs to be present, and when I say hold their own I don’t mean outright kill unless it’s a skill matchup like zen vs anyone, ana has sleep/cc and can outright kill if skilled enough, mercy can escape, lucio is slippery and sustains, ect. Now I do agree that a support shouldn’t be able to do a dps’s job as effectively while being a support and with much less risk/difficulty (brig) but a supports job is to support their team and keep themselves alive, not support their team and wait for death to dps. Counter play is good and skill matchups are good, outright winning due to what hero/role is picked is terrible design.
Supports are by far the strongest role, so they need to be looked at a lot more. A support being slightly overtuned has a lot bigger ramifications for the game than a dps.
you can have your dps/ tank anti flank, zarya, hog and orisa are great for that, mccree and doom are also great
when it comes to support brigitte’s new bash will make space for the backline while forcing the flanker to respect the stun, in any coordinated play, the stun will end up with a kill, but not from brig alone that’s just cancer and broken
Because the tank mains are scapegoating healers to detract from blatant statistics that prove tanks are over tuned and hide behind “its not fun” while healers are too busy pretending that the class that deals with them the easiest and needs them the most is out to get them.
Well blizzard makes supports who are overturned and dictate the meta and the other supports are irrelevant compared to them. First it was Ana who was incredibly good in triple rank. Then the infamous mercy meta and now Brigitte and goats. But as of right now the supports are the most balance than they ever been
i think accusing anyone of pushing any agendas isnt a constructive or productive way to have a discussion. it only creates more “us vs them” mentality.
tanks are very dependent on healers, though, as only one of them has actual self heal, but no real damage mitigation to make up for it. tanks can only get you so far if you dont have great healing in the first place.
No, there is no agenda. They are just not the most informed. And obviously we are not talking all tank mains; however, if you see a tank main whining about how weak they are… well, there you go, instant red flag. For instance, D.Va is integral to goats. Watch Overwatch Central breakdown each character in goats and laugh as they matrix dodge D.Va and solely blame Brigitte. It is pretty hilarious and undoubtedly subconcious.
If you ask me, being bluntly honest is more productive. If we are going to blame anyone, might as well talk about the real issue. You have any idea how many “OP” dps posts exist during THIS meta? And they ain’t talking Sombra or Doom, fam.
