A rough outline of everything we know about the future of the game
What we can fairly confidently say about the next few seasons:
Later in season 13 - My hero academia collab, quick play hacked that does a middleground between role and open queue, cassidy and brig hero mastery, soldier mythic weapon, OWCS finals with neon crowdfunding skins, new reaper epic skin on twitch drops
Next hero - Releases season 14, will likely have a trial this season. Is likely either named “Phreaks” or associated with someone or some group named Phreaks. Tank. Scottish male. Likely has green hair. Likely a revolutionary of some sort. Likely uses crystal based attacks. May have a turtle-like shell. May have green spikes.
Season 14 - Starts December 10th, Winter Wonderland likely will start with or soon after the season. Also Venture getting their first legendary skin
Season 15 - should start in February. New Competitive year meaning a large balance patch, emerald weapons getting replaced with something else, and MMR reset.
Things that are or may be happening in the future at an unknown date
Reaper is getting a rework, shadow step will be significantly altered
6v6 will be tested at some point in the coming few seasons
An in universe location called Atlantic Arcology" (A sea base) was teased for a long time in the Midtown trains station, but it was recently reteased with a poster on Numbani, alongside with a poster for “Morocco”. These may or may not be future maps
Blizzard is hiring a marketing role right now on a 6 month contract specifically regarding marketing a “major feature” for overwatch
Blizzard sent out a few of surveys about cosmetics over the past year and we’re seeing the first skin from those (cat mercy) releasing this season. So it’s likely we’ll see more of those in the shop or possibly even as themes for coming seasons such as Norse Mythology, retro arcade, and Zombie Apocalypse
Jason Schrier, a very credible journalist, claims an Overwatch mobile game is in development. Very little is known about it, including whether or not it is a port of Overwatch to mobile or an original game in the same universe
So yeah, lot of smaller stuff on here, but after the new hero next season we’re mostly in the dark in terms of big stuff
Thank you for this, am looking forward to seeing the new tank, I don’t play the role but we know nothing about him so it’s going to pretty much be a surprise for us when we see what he does!

Not even new heroes are enough to make PVP interesting… A droplet of new content every 2 seasons.
Yup with recycled uninteresting event game modes we won’t ever remember a few weeks later. Can’t wait.
Same old same old… Who even still actively plays Competitive in a 8 year-old game… ?
Sombra and Widowmaker are holding their breaths.
Which will have no impact if they don’t balance the game around it and keep catering to 1-2-2 RQ as their main focus.
If it’s just going to be some Arcade mode that isn’t even taken seriously, why bother ?
As long as it’s not Escort or Hybrid, new maps are always welcome.

Price tags will remain the same, if not higher.
Oh Gosh nooooooo… We want a brand-new OW game for PC and consoles just to forget F2P Overwatch. We don’t want another shop disguised as a game on our cell phones…
Yeah, that’s the least we can say :p… Not having a roadmap to 2025 by the end of the year for Overwatch would be wild, but not surprising actually…
