So make a custom game at launch that duplicates Quick Play. Problem solved, everyone can play new heroes - no battlepass, no grinding.
People barely play custom games as is, but with them presumably not giving battlepass exp they’ll be a total ghost town

Who cares about experience when Competitive is pay to win?
Never underestimate the custom game crowd. They will never stop with their 18+ girls only or political debate modes, never!

To expand on that:
There are many places where you can play using new heroes that they have not yet unlocked. For example, all heroes are playable automatically in the Practice Range, Custom Games, No Limits, Mystery Heroes, Mystery Deathmatch, and select other game modes, as well as some special event game modes.

I thought the most popular kind of room were “Chill, No Kill.” Where you just sit in a room with several other people and chill and talk. Like a chat room you used to have to pay money for. And now it’ll be free.
Huh… maybe there’s something there.
That’s good, fun to test and hang with friends and practice. But I wonder why they don’t lock out heroes in those other modes. Competitive has SR, the others don’t. I guess they need the SR as incentive to get people to pay. But it’s whatever, I spend a ton of time in the workshop.
