Hello everyone,
Blizzard Customer Service just Tweeted out they are monitoring a new DDoS attack.
If you are able to log onto Overwatch, I strongly recommend avoiding the Competitive Play mode at this time. Penalties cannot be reversed if you are disconnected during a Competitive Match.
UPDATE still having issues reported

Good heads up.
They should also implement such warnings in game

I like to refer to them as “insecurity attacks” because those are the only people who take time to carry them out.

How about just closing down comp temporarily while DDOS is going?
Perhaps Competitive should be disabled for the time being
The BattleNet launcher and the console version Breaking News pop will display this message. I am just also spreading the news here.
The problem is that this issue is something affecting outside of Overwatch and it doesn’t exactly affect every single player world wide.

another attack? which server is attacked?
I am not certain yet. Yesterday both EU servers and the U.S. Central server reported issues.

The BNet launcher is not. The only message I see is the maintenence on Thursday the 12th.
Because that’s what the people doing this want to have happen. “I do this thing and right away a multibillion dollar company folds! This makes me feel powerful!”
Red line message on the bottom of the launcher.

Okay, so let players walk into a comp match and get DC’d so they can lose SR…I guess that’s what the people doing this want to have happen. “I do this thing and right away players will flame the company! This makes me feel powerful!”

Who cares about their pride? Better to not punish your players

Today i played QP on Hollywood and the message “server has stopped working due to unexpected error” popped up almost 10 times in a row. Each time match was cancelled and restarted on the same map with same players, but the teams were mixing and changing sides.
i wonder if the ddoss has anything to do with blizzard making the wrong changes every patch, making the game worse and worse, buffing heros that require 0 brainpower/mechanics/aim/teamwork and having half the heros in the game
now being “trollpicks” bring back early seasons of the game.

Just seen this vut in a game rn. Wish me luck no dc guis!
No.
Blizzard’s design changes have nothing whatsoever with some random neckbeard’s choice to break laws and ruin the fun for literally millions of people who had nothing to do with said design changes.
This is all about one little sad dude who has no regard for anyone but himself.

Its in the global alert strip at the bottom.

Try closing BattleNet completely (find the BattleNet icon in your Windows System Tray, right click and select Exit) then relaunch to refresh.
No if there is any political motive, it has to do with WoW Classic but that is a debate I will avoid stepping into.
Given other games and platforms were targeted, no.
People really need to stop trying to project their opinions of the game onto what is just one (or a group) of sad lonely people trying to feel important.
