I’ve noticed recently there is a massive increase in people who are blatantly using wall hacks (seeing through walls), and aimbot. It used to be one maybe two in a month of above casual gaming (2-3hours/day) but recently there have been several in a single day. Replay is a great way to catch them, because you can go watch their POV, but even when I put in reports I feel like they aren’t getting dealt with since there’s been so many recently. Has anyone else noticed this?
It is tough to be sure an increase is anything but bad luck or prior good luck, but I have seen more than usual recently.
A lot of good team communication and high awareness can seem like wall hax because kill cam and replay do not record voice chat.
uhhh, first off, wall hacks are pretty easy to spot, when they trace through objects they can’t see through = they are wall hacking and looking at you through a wall. And aimbot for the most part is pretty easily identifiable as well. Good communication means they know someone on the opposing team exits a certain area so they look there, not actually tracking someone from behind a wall. This isn’t a “This gold widow was landing a lot of headshots” type of post. This is a “Hey there are legitimate cheaters in this game and it’s an increase from previous months is blizzard handling it?”
I’ve only ever seen 2 people that I knew for a fact were hacking in my at least 1200 hours playing this game, and I reported both of them and received a notification telling me that they’d been actioned (I don’t report many people so I generally know who it is that was actioned).
Other than those 2 people, I’ve never even reported another person for hacking. There have been a handful of occasions where I was initially skeptical to them playing legit, but as the match went on or I watched the replay I was certain they weren’t any longer.
I hadn’t seen any (that I can remember) in the entire time I’ve played OW and I’ve seen 2, maybe 3 the last two days.
2 that were 100% for sure hacking and didn’t even bother denying it when called out on it.
Well, there are lots of cheats for sale. Bound to be somebody using them right?
I have seen some sketchy stuff here and there. The cheats have gotten pretty good it seems. They look pretty legit unless somebody is just shredding you or you know a lot about how hacks work and look.
Imagine paying a bunch of money to cheat in overwatch though. Who is the joke really on?
Dude I’ve seen it in quickplay lately on like silver border accounts.
Imagine getting so fed up at how bad you were that you hack in QP
I dont know why you would need an aimbot so shoot shields, but whatever floats someones boat, i guess.
Seriously though, game barely has moments where youre able to shoot somebody and youre gonna ruin it by not even aiming yourself in those situations? I am fairly confident a lot of widows are using aimbot but I think they stop playing themself out of boredom instead of stopping because they were banned. (Since bans take too long)
ive seen maybe less than 10 in the 3 years of playing this game so i still cant really complain but since the last anti cheat patch that refunded sr if a player was caught cheating, ive seen more than i ever have
I completely agree. I’ve seen and recorded/reported 4 different widows who were aimbotting HARD on my plat account that I play with friends on. Like, the type of aimbotting where they’re shooting at your head through a wall they can’t shoot and or see through (seen on replay since you can see body outlay). Haven’t gotten a notification saying a player I reported has been dealt with. Also you’re trying to tell me a plat widow who has no game sense at all but has a 76% critical hit accuracy rate? top5’s don’t even have that kind of aim.
I see a lot of wallhacks lately.
I saw one or two wallhacks lately as well. Point is that wallhack is almost impossible to catch by people from Blizz…
Sam Today. Plat, widow almost 80% accuracy!
Critical hit …aimbuff and sharpshooter are the offending bot program .
Hackers are a big issue, I can prove it , who in blizzard takes care of reports?
no point in reporting them as they are likely on an alt and have more alts and blizzard doesnt do anything more than ban the offending account on the off chance enough reports or evidence is found.
Isnt that just great, i would ove someone who is close to blizzard to chime in on this
They won’t. They aren’t going to acknowledge several hacks went free to download on the latest patch which is part of this issue
Definitely have seen a lot more within the past 4 months.
I’d also love to see them implement a CS:GO like Overwatch system in Overwatch. Especially since they recently added the replay system. Maybe it’d help to catch some of the closet cheaters.
I honestly hate the ban wave mentality of companies were they brag about mass bans for publicity. I’d rather them ban them quicker. Make them scared that any second that they could be banned. The ban waves just let them cause havoc for weeks on one account.
