Aim in overwatch 2 is elastic and feels off

First culprit amd fsr turn this off
set high precision mouse input to on
Dynamic render scale to off

This does get aim closest to ow1 feel hitscan still does feel a bit off.

There is still smoothing on the server side i think that makes everything feel rubberbandy

even kephri has talked on this

I found that OW2 defaulted all my FPS to “default” which is locked at 60.

After I set it to custom and 120+ it felt a lot better.

isnt kephri that bronze valorant streamer?

sadly fps increase doesnt help with this though improving fps will have its overall effect, i have 144 fps in both ow1 and 2.

Doesn’t matter what he is.
He is 100% right about the aim stuff, it was in both betas and they had lots of feedback about the issues with it and they did nothing.

ya people repeatedly complained about this is in beta and was still ignored.

Wait, what if they made it so that clientside mouse smoothing was forced to ON

So it is a hit reg problem.

I noticed this heavily on roadhog last night. People who were only a few bars HP should have died after i hooked them, but it felt like nothing registered with the follow-up shot. Its so bad sometimes i feel apprehensive to even attempt a hook depending on the situation.

woudlnt that go against high precision mouse setting which is supposed to be raw mouse input i think.

Though honestly wouldnt put it past blizzard to override it.

I just hope they fix this.

Well, this guy thinks he figured it out.

OMG I just played with a hog and they failed every single hook combo. Perhaps this is why?

High precision setting won’t change how your aim feels. It simply sends your mouse imputs to server more frequently. There is some kind of smoothing enabled, thats for sure. They need to fix it ASAP, it’s a huge downgrade from OW1

if you see my post i have already done these settings they were posted in reddit owu and comp, it still doesnt fix no regs and hitscan aim still feels off, these do make it feel better and closer to ow1.

Nah, non of it helped in beta and now. All of it is placebo.

I really felt it when playing Sombra in the beta tbh. Especially when moving alongside someone and tracking…

I think its just the new engine and the game will stay this way permanently… which if true, is unfortunate. I don’t think i can play this long term if it remains like this.

bro i do, i dont think this is something fixable by tweaking settings this issue is not new its been there since beta, and people in comp reddit have tried every setting you mentioned and more.

it doesnt fix no regs for hitscan, the settings are ones that were used in ow1 too to make things feel good and they do have the same effect in ow2 but they dont fix the actual issue.

pretty often enough for comp reddit streamers on twitters with 5k rigs to be crying about.

Also no movement doesnt affect heroes like widow ashe ana who stay scoped.

Another tip: Go to options → accessibility and turn off/reduce camera shake. I have no idea why it’s on by default.

The aiming feels terrible, its like the reticle is floating around. How did these things get past play testing even?

Why in the world do they have a beta… And listen to pretty much none of the largest complaints about it? What’s even the point other than “Oh look, it’s almost out!”
