is there a way to get aim assist on PC while using a controller
Yes, using cheats which is not allowed.
PC is meant to play with KB and mouse, and you will be in a disadvantage if you play with a controller
damn that sucks
guess ill die
Settings → General → Controller. Under the Controller section, select Advanced, and here, controller users can find a handful of variables to be tweaked.
There isn’t, but there should be. Peripheral preference is pretty relevant considering that base PC and console capabilities are comparable in our crossplatform present.
yes, its called cheating
and you are at a severe disadvantage if you want to play with a controller in a M&K dominated platform
people would instantly abuse this to start ximming (which they already do) to get boosted in ranks
nah, i think OP is actually on to something…if aim assist isnt a big deal for consoles…then i see no reason why there shouldnt be an aim assist on PC for people who use controllers.
seems only fair, right?
then, they can make a xim device for PC, to trick your system to think you’re still using a controller, but get aim assist from using a mouse and keyboard on PC.
i mean, you all wouldnt have any problem with that…right?
exactly…you see console players here saying how aim assist on console is no big deal and that xim users are a very low percentage…so, having aim assist on pc for controller users should be perfectly acceptable.
im thinking…yeah, they need to make that happen!
im getting mixed messages here, are you being satirical or do you actually think we should have aim assist on PC
If players want to be at a disadvantage and operating under bannable parameters while playing against me, I say “their loss ”
That being said, in a lot of Crossplatform environments there is peripheral segregation allowing controller to play with controller and KBM to play with KBM regardless of platform preference so it’s ultimately not that big of a deal.
When console players are in cross play PC lobbies, they actually lose aim assist. They only get it when everyone in the lobby is console.
This was changed shortly after it was identified.
Console players do have aim assist in crossplatform lobbies.
Do you have a source for that change? I thought it was intentional that they didn’t and wasn’t aware of the change.
https://gamerant.com/overwatch-2-aim-assist-crossplay/
It was changed within a 60 days of launch.
Why? Just use your controller to move and a mouse to aim/shoot.
Some games such as Apex has controller aim assist but because the dev overdid it, controller users have both movement AND aim advantages at the same time.
Battlefield devs calibrate their Aim Assist function pretty well.
I myself also use controller when using a none aim heavy hero because its day and night difference to me in terms of character movement. I dodge bullets like Neo (someone in an ancient move called the Matrix) when I am on controller but not keyboard.
no aim assist is only for the cheaters on console who use keyboard and mouse abusing the system
Wow… I totally disagree with them doing that.
Honest to god, every time I got the suspicion someone was using controller, I’ve always been wrong.
I genuinely don’t think it’s that big of a deal especially in QP.
im being sarcastic, partly. What i mean is, we say that aim assist is fine for consoles because they use controllers…well if you want to use a controller on PC, then you should be allowed aim assist as well, right? would that not be the same thing? The fact that we would have xim usage, just like on console, would be an afterthought, and…theres not a BIG problem with xim on console, so there wouldnt be a BIG problem with it on PC either…right?
What’s the problem with that?
but are they being banned? that’s the question. From what everyone says, you cant detect if someone is using a xim because it shows it as controller input.
but does that feature exist in OW? i dont believe it does, otherwise we wouldnt have xim users in PC lobbies.
i dont believe this is true, the reason why is that ive watched replays of people who are console in PC lobbies and you can clearly see aim assist guiding their. Ive posted replays of it.
The aim literally mimics the players movement, exactly. It’s not a direct lock on, but, you can see the crosshairs changing direction (multiple times, in all directions) as the player they are aiming at moves.
I even posted a video last week of a console widow player in a PC lobby, aiming at a doomfist who was around a corner, the doomfist came into view and use his rocket punch to fly down some steps. The moment the doomfist came into view, the crosshair of the widow was pulled toward the doom and when he rocket punched, the widows crosshair was actually dragged, perfectly, about 3 to 4 inches on the screen in the same path the doomfist punched. It lost connection shortly after, but you can see it clear as day.
ive watched console players aiming at a brig once, the brig was moving left and right, and jumped up and down, and if you watch the crosshairs of the console user in slow motion, you see their crosshairs change direction as the target jumps, at the exact same time, as if it were an aimbot lock on, but it just wasnt hardlocked to the head or anything, but it was just guiding their aim toward the target.
Unless im seeing something else, aim assist does exist in pc lobbies for console players.
it is. I get tons of console players in my lobbies, and when you see kill cams that look weird, if you go back and watch the replays, you can see it clear as day.
also, what people are forgetting as well, something i didnt think about until i read it here a week ago is that, console users do have another advantage that PC players dont, and that is strafe movement. Most people say that you really dont aim with your mouse, you aim with your A and D keys, by strafing left and right. Well, with PC, there is no speed modulation with strafing, it’s either all on or all off. With console, you can actually feather your strafe movements just like you can your aim, because you have a joystick that has fine incremental control.
So, when it comes to aiming, you get your crosshairs close to the target, let aim assist pull it for you and you use your movement joystick to feather your left/right strafing.
we just shouldnt have aim assist, gyroscoping on controller can give a similar amount of aim compared to m&k, giving aim assist on m&k is a big stock increase for Ximming companies, it is a big issue in console, its going to be a big issue for PC if we have ximming bc of how prevelant it is.
