Aim Anxiety Cure

Someone tell me what the cure is this instant.

EDIT: Distinguish between Mechanical skill and head/psychological problems. My aim is decent and I already know how to practice. Issue is anxiety :frowning:

I tri but aim anxiety :frowning:

Make it a game. Visualize you are playing ddr with your crosshair and the heads are the dance steps.

lmao but it’s already a game wtf

Whenever I’m shaky, I calm myself down, trying hard to focus and breathe slowly.

Go for more 1v1’s, play deathmatch and as time goes on youll get more confident.

Yeah, but if you are getting anxiety from aiming it is due to a fear of failing your team.

DDR is far less stressful.

Focus on relaxing. Make sure you’re comfortable in your chair. Do some light practice and make sure your settings are right for you.

Also maybe have a drink or two? But not more lol

Source: Sym 2.0 to 3.0 transition made me have to actively improve aim. Am now competent at tracking and can also generally solo a diamond Pharmercy with McCree. Just relax!

Drink idea is actually a good one I might try that. There’ve been times I’ve played drunk and I was just headshotting this enemy tracer left and right as Widow.

Yes, and keep that in mind. At the end of the day, we’re all just here to have fun and enjoy ourselves, right?

Unless you are a sniper your aim is not the most important thing.

If you’re determined to get into 1 v 1 duels then practice and learn.

Abilities and sticking close to your teammates will always help compensate whiffing on shots

I play Ashe and Widow so uh

Then practice. And don’t worry. Pros don’t have an aim that would count as a passing grade.

Look for low go targets flick to the body. When you get confident start going for the head. Burst dmg even to the body is still in your favor

oookay I mean I’m not a beginner lol what. My aim is decent actually it’s just sometimes you get all up in ur head u know? Distinguish actual mechanical skills from head problems lol

Part of that anxiety for me is linked to self esteem and that can be impacted by what you may think people are thinking about you.

If some of your anxiety is from the same source, then try squelching or muting the in-game chat. That way you can focus practicing your own aim a little easier rather than anticipating what people’s reactions are.

Also it really helps to warm up in more casual game modes.

I find this to help sometime. Squelching gets me though bc theres still that part of me that wants to see my team suckin me off when I pop off. u feel?
