Sick of playing with 12 year olds who go DPS Everytime. Matchmaking in general is broken and awful (team of 0-1 stars vs 5 stars?) But at least let me play with people my age

I love the good old āomg the game put me with 5 star/silver/gold border players when Iām low level, wtfā because that honestly highly likely means those players skill/mmr is pretty low.
Thereās not a damn thing they can do about age without literally requiring someones passport or birth certificate in person to possibly verify that either.
Dude just make your own group in LFG and kick people without a mic if it bothers you that much its really not difficult to get a team you want now.
My main account no joke lost 500 sr during thanksgiving break because of them. I went ahead and practiced Ashe, Genji, and Tracer on my day off in Deathmatch, hid my profile, then carried myself back to my old rank.

The worst part is Iāve played with far more level headed children than some of the grown man-children that you encounter in QP.
Literally almost always have a grown man scream into his mic, rage quit, switch to Genji off of tank / healer when weāre barely behind, etc etc etc vs the two or three children Iāve encountered (that use mics) who have tried to ask what they should play and while annoying constantly asking questions or insisting on comps bc they watched it in a video once, Iāll take one of them over grown men going āREEEEEEEEEEEEā into the mic and sh***ing themselves when they lose

Yeah I wish screaming into your mic was a punishable federal offense. I literally keep my audio turned down so I donāt have a**hats giving me anymore hearing damage than I already have.

Seriously tho. I have hearing problems irl so I have to have things turned up unreasonably loud so when that happens it causes me legit pain among other things
TBH I wish bliz took screaming into mics more seriously other than āLmao just mute themā because you donāt know going into a game who is going to eat their mic and destroy your ear drums

Yup you have recruitment then, Itās similar to hyperacusis but caused by hearing damage. Your tolerable noise thresholds mustāve dropped in the frequencies you can still hear in. What I would recommend is getting checked for hearing aids. If they can utilize frequency lowering technology for you, then you may be able to listen in comfort with lower decibel levels in the ranges your hearing is still very good in.
A recommendation i have is you download Decibel X for your phone and check the decibel levels to make sure they arenāt within the damaging range of 85+ when you play games or view other media.
You can also, turn down in-game music and if you have a soundcard to filter out the warmer ambient noises.
One thing that has seriously helped me are my Sony 1000XM3ās that cancel out all background noise within the room so I can listen to my games at lower volumes and have less ānoiseā too obscure what I need to hear. Itās rather interesting too, when you cancel out all other noise, lower volumes sound louder but at comfortable decibel levels.
Edit: I have severe hearing loss and am plagued with recruitment so iām afraid of loud noises because I could lose more hearing but also because they set off my already bad tinnitus, cause me pain, and make my inner ears feel like theyāre swelling.

It also just occurred to me as iāve had this problem before on top of my hearing damage, if you have fluid on your inner ears then loud noises can be amplified also. In which case an ent might suggest you a specific anti-histamine.
Just know that getting fluid off the inner ear can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months and that even if you donāt feel like you have any in, there you could still be backed up. So getting checked out could possibly do you wonders.
