We’ve all had it happen, we AFK for a split second after starting a queue, either to use the restroom or grab a drink. Why does it still put you on a random hero if you’re not there for the hero select screen? In a game mode like Stadium, with 20 minute Support queues, I just had an unheard of sub 1 minute queue that I quickly used the restroom for. Came back to a hero I don’t play a lot at all and we ended up losing. My primary hero was not taken by the other support and it gave me something random. If you’re not there for the hero select screen, ESPECIALLY in stadium, it should stick you with your most played hero, and if it’s taken, your second most played. Having ridiculous queue times and having something like that happen is infuriating. In all-star 4 so losing to something like that is more frustrating than usual

That would be a nice solution. I’m all for it. It’s happened to me a couple times and I made it work but it was definitely a less than ideal experience for my team. I play other games or stream or do other random stuff to pass the time as I wait for the long queue and sometimes I don’t hear the noise.
