Advice on replay

Hey Guys,

I keep getting the most bizarre bronze games. Can someone please watch this replay and tell me what was wrong with this game?

What in the world could I have done to help this… It just seems like we had horrible tanks.

Will update as I watch:

Going off of the initial fight I noticed 2 things. You are far too eager to play on the front lines with a ranged character and your turret placement does not supplement your dps. You need to identify your ideal positioning and be better about where you put your turret as it should be involved in the fight as well.

Yeah, well if you noticed the enemy Genji - he kept attacking it if it was in a visible spot. He’d deflect all damage too it, and it just felt like my tanks couldn’t ever stay up.

But yeah I know what you mean, I was trying to place the turret in a spot that once Genji dove, he’d get killed by it or have to attack it instead.

Ok going into the fight on point B where you swapped to Doomfist one thing was made abundantly clear. Your target priority and focus is too inconsistent. Take some time to learn what “commit to the kill” means. Especially on DPS you need to learn to be consistent with 2 things: who the key target is and making sure they die before you switch targets. In most team fights its going to be a support seeing as how if they don’t die then the rest of their team won’t. Occasionally the key target will be the person getting the most value for their play. Its up to you as the player to identify who that is. Learning to be more consistent with these two thing will net you far more wins.

So overall for the remainder of the game here’s what I can say, You APM(actions per minute) is very low. Passive play is to be expected at that rank but if you want out you need to start thinking about doing more things in your downtime. No hiding in corners waiting for something to happen, especially if you can’t even see what the enemy is doing. Use this as a benchmark: Mercy’s rez is the longest CD in the game at 30 seconds, if its taking you longer than rez CD top perform a single action YOU are the problem and YOU need to change that either by swapping to a more viable hero in the moment or just actually doing something.

Another thing to note is that while the temptation is high to try and 1v1 everyone you run into DO NOT. Use the buddy system, roll with at least one teammate as often as you can. Simple math says two guns shooting at a single target will make them die faster. You help them kill their target they should help you kill yours, but if the favor isn’t being returned suck it up and keep helping them kill their targets. The WIN is far more important than who has the highest K/D.

Yeah. Ok, thanks for taking the time to review it.

A lot of that game was me panicking, first off because we lost the first point so fast. Plus the enemy team seemed to be a bit off balanced.

Toward the end, we had like 4 minutes but nobody could push past the choke.

That’s more of a team coordination issue which honestly won’t get better for several ranks. So the first thing you need to lock down would be the buddy system. Just learn to never take a fight by yourself no matter the role. Getting better at that alone will climb you into silver.

Yeah, thanks.

I don’t know if you’d mind but I have another one I did during my lunch break today. Got accused of smurfing.

At your level you should know that’s impossible and anyone accusing you of such is a fool.
