Advice from a mercy main

Stop running away from me, I’m trying to heal you! It’s always the DPS hiding from Mercy.

Your priority as mercy is to support your dps so are your dps running away from you or were you out of position to begin with?

Just so you know, your DPS cant see behind them.
You are behind them

and you can fly.

Same way the tank doesnt know whats going on in the back, they see 5 people most of the time.

DPS see 5+1 most of the time (5 enemies and their tank)

Supports see the entire battlefield, mostly 8-9 people to be aware of at a time.

It’s not like both DPS are always on top of each other. Mercy can only be in one place. Then the other DPS gets hit snd runs into a building out of line of sight. Knowing where your supports are so they can help you separates high-rank players from tunnel-vision mid-rank players.

It’s not just mercy! It’s all of them :sob:
At least once per play session I get someone (who probably isn’t, but damn well feels like it) running around a corner away from my Los, so I try to go the other way to meet them in Thier path, only to have them go the other way the moment they’re ALMOST in my Los…

People just need more awareness of Thier own team and stop tunnel visioning XD
And I’m not just saying this to tanks and dps, my co supports sometimes do this too

Uhh… have you heard of LOS? Dps never factor that in whenever they have a Mercy. They have to adapt positioning to the majority of their team’s locations to prioritize maximum LOS. And most of the time, y’all hide from it and get angry whenever she doesn’t fly to or rez ya.

Not all dps, just the selected who complain about it

I love when i am healing someone and they ar ebeing pressured and all they have to do is back up towards me so we can go back out the same way we came but instead they find the most random tiniest hole in the wall, moving far enough away so the beam disconnects before i hear their death sounds as they get cornered by the entire enemy team.

DPS can see behind them. They just have to turn around. It should be a habit for players to check their entire surroundings any time they’re not actively using their crosshairs to aim.

Good positioning for anybody includes knowing where your teammates are, and if you expect them to help you, making sure you’re somewhere where they can help you. This is true if you want heals, it’s true if you want someone to peel or focus fire. If you want help, it’s on you to make sure help can reach you.

If I’m support and somebody runs around the corner when there’s no space for me to safely follow, I just have to assume they’re planning to get in and get out on their own. I won’t be of any use to anybody if I die trying to chase my Genji across no-man’s land.

In high elo, Tanks always know where their teammates are going to be

And always keep themselves in line of sight

But for some reason, many Tanks and DPS think its all good to turn of their brain when going for plays; and then asking why no heals xD

Then let them get punished :woman_shrugging:t2:

i get that, by that logic same goes for tank, but in an active battle, shots are mainly coming from the frontal.

Which is where most of the attention goes to.

Well said, I agree.

Agreed.

Fair.

Im only speaking form my experience, been into games where my team can see me, I am sitting with 40Hp until my passive heals me up.

While my teammate are busy doing dps.
Then the same support cries, i got 600 heals in 5 minutes, why is your dmg only 3k?

well cause i am sitting out half the fights waiting for my passive or a medpack.

And the point of the thread is to tell people how to avoid getting punished in this scenario, isn’t it?

lol

It happens xD

If I’m “hiding” from you, it means I’m kiting out and have a safe exit from where I’m at. If I’m taking high or side lanes, me getting in a safe position away from enemies often means also not being in teammates LoS.

There’s conveniently health packs in all of these areas so don’t feel responsible.

I need them to live or it punishes me.

Sometimes i actively avoid LoS and stay to far away from kiriko tp range and Mercy GA.

leave me at low hp, If you come to me behind the enemy lines you just feed.

Its my job to get back out alive unless you have long range heals like ana or maybe zen.

Sorry but to me, this is bad awareness, and therefore skill issue. It doesn’t take much to turn around to check. If you find yourself in a position when you can’t take your eyes off the enemy, that’s bad positioning.

And there’s not much else to say XD
