Advice from a Grand Master

I suggest to had info about support sinergy and how and when pick them, for example, Vs a zarya+Junkrat or Tracer, Lucio is better than zen cause he can let the team survive due the shield provided by the ult over the 300Healig/s provided by zen, or to possibly avoid Ana Vs Orisa and a good D. Va, cause due the shield which can be moved quite freely and the matrix the healing will be less and important skill as the biotic nade and sleep will be easily countered

Ive played on PS4 and comms are defiantly a nightmare, and theirs really not much to do about it there. Good to see your reviewing your games though!

Blizzard actually removed the ability to avoid players in Que, some plecebo buttons might still exist there but overall its not a system that worked and was removed from the game around season 3 if i remember correctly. This is FAKE NEWS!

Thanks!

<3 only love buddy

This is a good question and heavily dependent on team comp. If you have comms, tell your team when your getting ready to drop your shield. In addition, never let it actually shatter. Always tell your team your getting ready to put it down if it gets below like 700 and put it down before it hits 300. Letting your shield actually break will prevent you from re-activating it for ~3 full seconds, witch gives the enemyā€™s huge opportunity to get free ults or hooks or other related big hits on your team for free without having to play around you. If its around 300 let it recover up to at least like 1600 before you start soaking random spam again, and save the last hit for blocking these big hitting abilityā€™s.

Good things to keep in mind are to always make sure to get your shield back to full whenever you win a fight.

Also somewhat related is that if you dont have your shield up, you should always be swinging. The number of random sombras and tracers ive killed and other free damage ive gotten by randomly swinging near chokes while recharging is huge.

Aggressive play can help your shield get up as well. If the enemy team has no CC (Mcree and hog), you can often recharge your shield while staying in the choke and swinging on people.

In terms of widow, just callout that your putting sheilds down and for your squishy players to LoS the widow while still being able to pressure whatever choke point your playing around. They probaly wont listen, but it the best you can do for them :stuck_out_tongue:. But I also dont think widow should be that huge of a problem below ~2800ish, if shes really shutting your team down a Winston switch is really helpful.

I hope some of that helps you find some more time to charge up during your games

I really havenā€™t seen a 3-4 tank meta were reaper wasent heavily played, wether it be CTF, comp, or pro level. It might not be your playstyle but its reapers greatest strength. Junkrat can be really strong, especially right now but his non-focused splash damage can be something you dont want to take against some 4 tank comps focused on getting healer ults up quickly.

edit: i should mention that if your a junkrat main then ofcourse playing junkrat against this can work. If its the hero your comfortable on, then go for it. People are not going to have coordinated 4 tank comps like this below diamond and you can easily burst down overextended tanks.

@pumaisbae, yea ill add some of that later today thanks.

Dude reaper gets destroyed by rein and dva together and he canā€™t kill the healersā€¦ junkrat is AMAZING and heā€™s the best tankbuster, he can just spam them and because of the close range healing they all need to group up, and junkrat destroys them. Also reaper doesnā€™t have AOE damage and junkrat can stay far away and spam while reaper canā€™t and puts himself in danger

Against tanks, unfocused AOE is really not what you want. There large health pools give healers well more then enogh time to heal them back up from unfocused splash damage, and it lets them build ults incredibly quickly. Ofcourse if your a good junkrat and your focusing a target and getting consitant hits bursting tanks down then sure it can work but junkrats shots are fairly predictable and unless your playing (to) close its going to be hard to do that.

In addition, almost any 2 heros working together can take out any other hero, but reaper really shouldent have any problems against characters like rein and D.va. Reaper can 2 tap rein, witch I realize is not going to happen often but if you need more then a clip to take out a Rein whos trying to swing on you brushing up on your aim mechanics in practice range might be a good idea. Reaper nearly outheals d.vas damage when hes shooting at her when shes not using her rockets, and hitting large tanks like d.va and rein should not be an issue.

Im just trying to give the best advice I can, and I believe that reaper is generally going to be stronger against comps running a number of tanks. Its definently true that Junkrat can do really well in these situations, but he really can also end up doing more harm then good if your team isent following up on your damage.

By no means am I saying that people should add reaper to there hero pool, hes strong in a few edge cases were the enemy team is tank stacking, and on aveagre other heros are better. Nor am i saying that Reaper is necessary for this situation. My only point is that in general hes a strong pick there, and if you or someone on your team plays a strong reaper reccomending them to swap to it would probaly make you more likely to win.

Based on what youve told me, im assuming your a junk main and thats good. Hes a strong hero and he can get you far, and can preform well if you know what your doing witch you sound like you do. Conc mine is also an insanely powerful tool right now. But I also want to point out his potential for catastrophic miss play.

4 tank is played sometimes at plat and gold and even if they dont understand the strat the healer will still be getting a very fast ult if an unprepared junkrat is randomly spamming and the moira is actually healing, things will go bad fast. An early coalescence is no bueno. In addition, junk relies on teammates far more for finishing up softened targets whereas reaper is fully capable of confirming his own kills. Again, ofcourse junk can confirm kills, but it is not as easy with his kit.

Junkrat can defenently be a solution, but for these reasons I dont think im going to recommend him.

I should also add in that i am somewhat bias, reaper is the way I usually try to deal with this. If you have your own strategies that work here then ofcourse you should use them.

Mechanically un-intensive dps:

Spamrat. Very powerful vs shield comps. You need to aim his mine now but thatā€™s the only hard part about the spam junkrat
Bastion. Tracking is hard but you have 300 ammo and 7654876 RPM fire rate
Pharah just lead the rockets and google ā€œpharah fly forever.ā€ if there is a soldier/mccree/widow killing you, swap off.

Pharah can actually beat Soldier/McCree/ Widow if Pharah can get the drop on them. Look up Valkia on Youtube. As well as Fly forever video, search Youtube for "Valkia Pharah Hitscans"
Shows how to mitigate, if not outright ream enemy hitscans with Pharah.

One more thing I think you could add to the hero tips, is while flying to someone with mercy, holding jump gives you an extra 30%-ish boost, no matter what direction you are going(unless into a wall ofc). And thanks for the tips! <3

Thanks, Iā€™ll try to communicate more with my team about my shield status, and see where this takes me.

Mei is only dangerous 1v1 so just stick together

This topic is pretty much textbook example of why high rank players no longer frequently give good advice in comp forum.

Skelly, Thank you for being persistent and keeping your thread on topic. Also thank you for making the topic in the first place

I mean sure if you have some recent comp games recorded from the last two seasons (no reason to go over really old stuff your playstyle might be a little different if you have not played comp in a while), add me on Btag we can talk about it in some quick plays maby <3

Good post. The communication part obviously doesnā€™t count for EU.

Is the problem with comms in EU that people speak different languages? Or do people just not communicate

lly warm hands is gonna make you play better, blow dry your
[/quote] I am still reading your post (very good) but on the subject of warming your hand rather then an oven, could you not just wash them or run them under hot water. It cause vasodialaltion faster, which is what you want, a steady flow of warm blood coursing through. Great advice, just hot water wood be safer as long as your not boiling it.

Yea this is a way better way to do it then a blow dryer lol

From a medical standpoint, thatā€™s not going to do much. Warm blood comes from your core, mainly. If hot water does anything, it wonā€™t last longer than a few minutes.

Best thing for increased circulation is to work out regularly. Not that I can say anything, Iā€™ve been so busy this semester I havenā€™t had any time for anything aside from studying.
