Addressing reaper

Hey everyone it’s been a long while since I last posted either complaints or just genuine curiosity. Today I come with a question though. Why does reaper have 40% life steal? Yes hes supposed to attack and feed off of the tanks but I do believe he shouldnt beat them 99.99% of the time. Now having the armor buff is appreciated for the tanks that have armor i enjoy not being melted by characters that dont melt. I really just think that reaper should have his life steal at 30% or 35% and have his spread reduced slightly. I think this will give him a skillful usage rather than just going up to a tank and saying This . Idk I’m just kind of sick of seeing reapers appear whenever I’m popping off as tank or supp.

99% of the time is an exaggeration, Reaper has a lot of counters.

Boops counter him, range counters him, stun counters him.

He has to be up close to be of any use :imp:

Yes he has counters but in the chaos of a fight? Hes very strong. Boops and stuns counter everyone except rein. And when he gets close? Or pocketed?

I kill him as Reinhardt all the time.

Then its a 2 v 1 and Reaper is a teamwork loving hero who likes being pocketed.

duo with dps who u trust or play orisa/sig easy contest reapper both of them, mei also.

Reaper is one of the worst heroes in gm (becouse you can’t play him into hanzo meccree or widow there) and even in the lower ranks he’s getting outperformed by many heroes. He don’t need nerfs. Tanks have to understand that they should not 1vs1 him.

His counter is teamwork, which is a valuable skill for a team based hero shooter. He has other specific hero counters in the dps role, and some tanks can manage him fairly well, but his best counter is working together and being aware of him.

If they kept his life steal at 40% but reverted him back to having to pick up the orbs to heal, he’d be fine. At the moment he can headshot point blank on a Roadhog and heal for 120 health, that’s way way too high. I’d also buff his fall off, because there are times where I’m fairly far way from him and somehow take 100+ damage.

We are not. He’s using the footstep exploit and distractions of being a tank defending their team, to sneak up and kill them. That’s the problem. Also, I use to be able to 1 V 1 him, with just my skill, before his life steal buff. He’s only good solely because of that. If teams worked together 100%, with rando’s, in every rank. He be garbage everywhere. This is not the case.
