Additional Valkyrie buff

I’d just like to put forward the idea of Mercy not being able to cancel resurrect during Valkyrie by moving outside of the radius. It’s really disheartening when it happens, it is never done intentionally and to be honest I don’t know why this extra limitation is put on it anyway. Just a thought! :blush:

sometimes i wish i could cancel rez without having to move outside it’s radius

It’s minor stuff like this that the devs would probably be more okay putting in.

I feel like having the ability to cancel it say by pressing E again might take away all the risk associated with going for it in the first place, although it would be a welcomed buff to her kit!

Well, I think the idea is that you could cancel it, but it would put the rez on cooldown.

I say lower Resurrect’s cast time in Valkyrie, seeing as though she’s enhancing all of her abilities.

At the very least I would like Valkyrie’s Guardian Angel to not throw me half a mile past my res target after I press E. It doesn’t get me all the time, but sometimes in the chaos of a fight I’ll find myself carrying a ton of momentum from a GA into Resurrect, so much so that I fly right out of the res range and end up losing my res. It’s obnoxious, feels like I’ve been jipped of both precious Valkyrie time and that impactful Resurrect.

I’m not sure if Valkyrie needs this exact buff, since pushing Mercy away from her res target is a normal counterplay to Resurrect, but that being said, it’s one of the more tame buffs I’ve seen suggested, especially in regards to boosting Resurrect in Valkyrie. I think the radius for being interrupted, at least, could be doubled, much like the Caduceus Staff’s beams get extended.

Over the past couple of days, I’ve started thinking about ways to change the current version to make her more enjoyable as oppose to advocating for a full on rework, I’m not opposed to the idea of the rework but I understand that it’s a lot of time and resources that the dev probably aren’t looking in to spending on Mercy again.

Even still, I think it takes too much away from the risks associated with Rez as you no longer need to commit to it and it takes away from the thought process behind it even more.

I think instead of doubling the radius they could instead half the cast time? It would help limit the amount of times you step (or float) outside of the radius, if they don’t remove that mechanic all together and it would also help to “enhance” Mercy’s kit as Valkyrie is intended to do

I’d argue the opposite.

At every moment you are weighing your options. When your have the option to rez or leave.

But during current Rez cast you have only 1 option.

And in a “game theory” sense, having only 1 option is bad.

I was thinking more of the thought process that goes on before-hand. Right now it’s “Is it safe for me to rez this target? Will it get interrupted and waste the cooldown or will I be killed?” With the ability to cancel rez the thought process will just be “I can go for this rez and if it gets too dangerous, I can just cancel it” It takes away the risk of commitment to the action and with how much of a reward the ability holds, it needs to have a high risk.
