It’s been an idea for long before 2 2 2 back when Jayne suggested it and did his own games with the rules set.
It would have worked much better pre 2 2 2 era.

There used to be a post to limit the skins to the default in competitive games.
Making it easier to identify the red team.
And a more recent one to stop players switching heroes in game, like MOBAs

There is a difference between ladder and pro, there is no denying it, but to call someone an idiot for an idea? Just because they are a coach for pro players and try to coach those that aren’t pros with what he knows? As if you are some know it all masiah of ladder play? Yeah I’m honestly out on this thread

I love Jayne, but hero bans is the most idiotic streamer only idea I’ve ever heard. They all bring it up, and they’re all idiots for saying it.
No thank you, that will only make it impossible to break whatever the meta happens to be, because every team will ban its counters. It will also further ruin heroes like D.Va or whatever, because even if they fix her people will just ban her so I’ll never get to play her.
On the one hand: fix the heroes. On the other: gitgud. Hero ban is just a lazy shortcut for people who want to do neither.

Hero bans would only work:
-
In pro play ( and I’m even not so sure about that), or
-
After a long time and many hero releases.
With the current limited roster, it wouldn’t work at all.

It is the only way to keep every game fresh and keep us out of singular metas.
It’s not feasible with the limited roster and too many abilities present on only one character. Once the roster pushes past 50 and you can’t shut down a strategy by banning one specific character, it may be an option.

Widow isn’t even meta… That’s like wasting your ban. Unless you know some person on the enemy team is a widow main.
I believe developers said they don’t like ban system, hence there won’t be a ban system in OW.
Not to mention we don’t have many heroes to begin with.

Why don’t we let gm’s and pro players decide 10 heroes who are meta each season or patch and than ban all other heroes? Wouldn’t that be fun?

Plus the same heroes would banned constantly in every game.
Such as:
- Doomfist
- Moira
- Sigma
I was making a joke because every 2nd post in these forums are please nerf Widow.
Hero bans should only be implemented into OWL, not on ladder.
